Faster flag returns and a spawn time penalty for the winning team would reduce the need for dedicated defenders while also weakening the ability to just cap and then turtle. Shorter return timers would also allow stuff like needing your own flag returned to cap an opposing one (which lets you deny backcapping with a good push).

people complained a lot about gpit when it was still in rotation. Long spawn times, long cap times, engie near mandatory (people would probably have less of a problem with this these days), some clipping issues, really poor balance between the points. And while the fights themselves were crazy intense, there was also a lot of walking/prep time, especially on c because of the lack of any forward spawns.
I wouldnt mind seeing it back but id much prefer a community A/D map made with 6s in mind. The map was fine but there are some stellar mapmakers these days that could definitely make one better than Gpit.
bhopping is fun but doesnt actually solve the issue with the GRU.
like the problem with heavy isnt that garbage players do well with him. its that good players know how to use him. (i mean him being easy is dumb but not why grus banned)
imo the gru should just have a passive HP or overheal reduction. the gru compensates for his most notable weakness so if they want it balanced then it should passively nerf something hes good at instead of having a meaningless active downside.
It nerfs gunboats with respect to a bunch of secondaries that the gunboats outclass, it doesnt nerf gunboats with respect to the game as a whole (with the exception of fighting shotgun soldiers but thats been meta before so its probably fine).
Yeah but considering its a weapon on 4 classes and outclassed on all of them except pyro (whos just garbage overall) shotgun could probably use a buff.

Miniguns cone is so unbelievably massive that the accuracy is beneficial at any range where you wouldnt melt your target in half a second.
even heavy v heavy doesnt matter cuz if youre solo pushing as a heavy then youre probably having a stroke
Its honestly surprising a lot of people think heavys underpowered there too considering how unbelievably strong he can be in pubs.
I think it might be inflated by people caring about the heavy/pyro war thingy though.
there are so many more elegant ways to deal with class stacking than what you have here. making a second med/demo a complete waste of space is no different than just recommending them be limited to one.
highlanders existance is a testament to valve shitty balance attempts over the years so if theyre actually trying to push competitive itd be kinda dumb to support it.

Perhaps, but if that much time passes without anyone getting any other sort of advantage to capitalize on then the match is probably incredibly boring already.
I mean sure its kinda gay in how its built by spam, but its not like its on par with an uber/pick advantage and side from the conch they take a while to build.
