How are you connecting your computer to the router? Damaged or old lines can cause a lot of problems. Try running a line straight from your computer to the router and bypass any internal wiring in your house that may be damaged.

If you buy a sub $100 chair from Staples you can buy an additional protection plan for it for only $10.
That gets you full replacement coverage for 2 years.
Buy chair, wear it out over a year and a half, bring it back for replacement, get new chair.
