#69 Is this what we are teaching kids nowadays? in The Dumpster
knsumeNub_Danishcommunist countries must inherently be authoritarian that's why communism is blamed not just the authoritarian partCommunism as described by wikipedia:WikipediaIn political and social sciences, communism (from Latin communis, "common, universal") is the philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state. If communism were to be applied as it was supposed to be, there would be no state to be authoritarian. Unfortunately, this will never happen practically because people like power.

how are u going to enforce communism without an authoritarian state?

mustardoverlordNub_Danishmustardoverlordcapitalism kills like 1 stalin's worth of people every year, to be fairhow
food insecurity, preventable/treatable disease, lack of clean drinking water, wars for profit/using arms purchased from major powers, industrial labor accidents, natural disasters disproportionately hurting the poor (not to mention how much global warming influences many of them, which is tied to capitalism)

and that's not including all of those killed or imprisoned in authoritarian capitalist regimes where we blame the authoritarian part and not the capitalist part, while the same actions by authoritarian communist regimes are blamed on communism

you seem to be operating under a premise that communism some how solves these issues
and you can't blame capitalism for global warming without in the same way showing how much its improved our lives

communist countries must inherently be authoritarian that's why communism is blamed not just the authoritarian part

Kratataofc kids are gonna get told the headlines of communism and think its great, but as soon as they turn 15 and do any kind of soviet history theyll realise how dumb it is

the amount of university students who favor communism and Marxist socialism over capitalism shows that to be untrue

remedyh0b5t3rcommunism shares more with fascism than capitalismgive us an explanation on why you think that

they are both authoritarian rule where the government controls the means of production decides income and distribution of resources
the only difference is that fascism doesn't try to hide that the people who benefit most from it are the people in power

SpuAndroid_Communism is bad on paperAndroid_it assumes a utopia where everyone works just as hard and no one has aspirations of grandeur. If humans were like this and all worked just as hard and were just as valuable to society it would be great.that's what "on paper it looks great" means

"on paper it looks great" means in theory it works well
in theory it doesn't work because we know humans are not like that

Android_Communism is great on paper, and it should sound like a great idea the first time you hear about it. It's only by looking at actual communist governments (which this kid probably hasn't done yet) that was recognize the fatal flaw: it's a power vacuum, and true communism as Marx imagined never lasts.

Communism is bad on paper it assumes a utopia where everyone works just as hard and no one has aspirations of grandeur. If humans were like this and all worked just as hard and were just as valuable to society it would be great. The reason communism and socialism is favored so much more heavily by young people rather than old is because it's "free stuff" and the older people have generally already worked for their stuff. You don't deserve stuff simply for existing and people who contribute more to society should be rewarded.

Communism seems like a pretty good idea if you don't think about it for too long

#29 Death Note - Netflix Series in Music, Movies, TV
FoxNub_DanishDifferNub_DanishDifferThe cast isn't Japanese?why would they be its an anime the characters aren't meant to look Japanese
It's set in Japan, and the characters have Japanese names. They're definitely Japanese.
aren't meant to look Japanese
and they have Japanese names because the show was made with a Japanese audience in mind for instance L (Eru Rōraito) and watari have Japanese names despite being from europe
if you talk to people in japan, they don't see those characters as being white a majority of the time fyi, that's just western perception

western population is drawn totally different in a lot of series compared to major characters like samurai champloo, yakitate!! japan, eyeshield 21, steins;gate, etc..

there are europeans in death note most notably the protagonists from the second arc

http://imgur.com/gallery/vlSI2
the character are Japanese but many many artist do not model there characters to look like Japanese people or supposed to look white the character looks how the artist thought they should look or what would be interesting
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Mukokuseki
some shows do intend to make characters look japanese or look white I don't think death note is one of those shows

#18 obamacare repeal bill gets pulled in World Events
CleepopleYppYYou know, this it not funny. It is not a got you Donald Trump. This is just sad. All it shows is an America that continues to be unable to make any changes. Like the policy or not, but you should be ashamed to be an american if you find the failure of you democratic system funny.First of all, I don't find that having Trump as president is funny. Secondly, while it is true that the enacting legislative change can be problematic in America because of extreme partisanship and whatnot this particular instance isn't a "failure of you democratic system" its just an extremely poor piece of policy and people on both sides of the aisle see that lol

Trump and other republicans have said before they think that in 1-2 years time Obamacare will fail and it would be better politically for republicans to let it fail. It even says in the article that a lot of people didn't want to vote on the bill because it was so unpopular, so the bill didn't necessarily fail because people thought it was bad for the american people, it failed because republicans want to stay in office. Whether you agree with the bill or not this does show the failure of the democratic system, elected officials should do what they think is best for the country not what gets them re-elected.
