Oh my b, I thought entry fees covered the prizes.
The venue was great, The only complaint I had was the monitors, but that's it, the chairs were excellent, the desk space was enough for me sense, I don't know about others.
The keyboards and mice were awful, but that's an easy fix by actually packing my own next time.
I really would of liked to at least have the STV on the projector, even to just do a fun couch cast despite there not actually being a stream, but a stream is something I'd like at future events if we allowed to set one up.

Our twitter was being unlawfully used by PurpleShirts cronies in an attempt to destroy us from the inside out. The Pizzagon appreciated your time with us botmode.

I bounced around this idea to Thickney, Spades and spaghetti last night. The possibility of having seasonal LANs with the 13 PCs with no prizes, then after the last seasonal LAN have a "championship" LAN with a PC per player and bigger prizes seeing as the LANs before it would have generated the money, + the money from sign ups for champ LAN. The championship LAN could be the "big" one where we drive to get as many players too as possible, and email zowie or some other company for prizes.
I know that sounds pretty #eSports
I'd try my hand at casting 100%. I think Luc and I would slay casting, when we're not busying slaying teams B)
2 day sounds good.
2 day event would mean more TF2 if we got all or most of the before finals done on Saturday, Sunday can be playoffs and best of 5 because we'd have more time
DayNife144hz would be the bomb. And I'm pretty sure having no prize would be fine with pretty much everyone.
I think if we can't get our own individual computers, having something like a checklist of which files and folders to bring with you so that you can setup your configs and huds really fast would be good. Other than that, being able to stream or at least record mumble/stv together for casting would be great. Even if we don't get any actual casters, I'm sure it'd be really nice if we could just get people from other teams doing play-by-play.
Biggest thing I think is getting the date down a lot earlier in advance so that it's easier for people to commit. I think we could've had at least 36+ players if we knew the date a couple months in advance.
We could always open up donations for people who had extra stuff to throw in a prize pool.
Obi144 hz monitors (I wonder if they'd let us bring our own?), and how much extra does it cost per person for us to rent out comps for each person.
+1 for the double stuff though Ahah
I was told they would let us bring out own monitors, you would just need to ask the owner to switch them out for you, I'm sure they'd have somewhere to put it.
Even with an impact on prizes, I'd really like more PC's, just a bit more to do while matches aren't happening, and even after the tournament if we finished early enough we could do something else like HL or Ultiduo. PC's were $20 per person, with the $26 Hidi charged for 13 PC's, she was able to pay for prizes and have the first wave of burgers pre paid for us. If people were willing to forgo that and pay a bit extra we could pool the money back into prizes, or potentially pay Dashner to produce if we got the go ahead for a stream from H&L, and ofc is dashner even wanted to produce, I would imagine its not simple. but I'm really interesting in seeing what goes into production.
Man I'm fucking up. Big shoutouts to Hidi, I pitched the idea to her and she just fucking soared with it. Dashner said that he's never seen someone's first LAN go as well as this one. She did an excellent job running everything and contacting the owners.
smiteeyAny photos? Would be cool to see what it was like for anyone who plans to go to the next one (if there is a next one).
Hidi took some, waiting for her to upload them, hopefully there will be a frag video as well
DanceNumberwho won it all?
Myself, Luc, Luc's brother, mangachu, Hassassin and the yung DayNife.
I had so much fun, big ups to everyone who came out, everyone who listened to me ramble about bullshit at dinner, it was great. Here's to many more LANs.
Shoutouts to the yung CrayonNipple the prodigy, yung DayNife for the spy 3k. Thickney for being a good conversation partner at dinner, Spades for just being a happy gamer. Real talk tho just shoutout to everyone who went.
