#11 LFP Low-Mid Open in Recruitment (looking for players)

We're still looking for a scout and a pocket. Styles ended up quitting due to personal life issues and won't be playing at all this season, and he wasn't really upfront on who was trying out for what. So I'm kinda starting again.

The roster that we now have confirmed is

Scout: Sidular
Scout: Available
Roamer: Snorty
Pocket: Available
Demoman: Manskirt
Medic: Aqua

If anybody wants to tryout for either Scout or Pocket, send me a friend request please. Things might be a tad hectic for a while as the merge didn't go entirely as planned, so just be aware of that.

As somebody that played soccer for over ten years, I can personally tell you that drinking too much water is a very. bad. thing. Just don't do it.

Also, vomit is hard to wash out of jerseys... Like, surprisingly hard.

#38 How much of your life has been on TF2? in TF2 General Discussion

Unfortunately, I only spent 1.78% of my life playing TF2. But on the plus side, I never idled or whatever. So that's 1.78% of pure gameplay. Yay, I think?

Just for the hell of it, I did another calculation. I have in total 402 games on Steam, yet TF2 is equal to 69% of my total Steam playtime.

#10 has anyone used a music streaming service? in Off Topic

I prefer Google Play Music myself. Sound quality is better than Spotify, and it has more music. It took Spotify a solid three years to get Cake's Showroom of Compassion, while Google has always had it.

Groove is... not good, in my experience. The sound quality is poor, even when compared with Spotify. I like the Groove client itself though, reminds me a lot of Rdio.

Anyway, to answer the original question? Yes, you can download music and keep it for as long as your subscription is active. However, to my knowledge at least, you must sign in every 30 days to continue to play your music offline. So it isn't yours to keep forever, unless you end up buying the album in full. If you buy the full album you keep that forever, obviously.

For the record I currently subscribe to both Spotify Premium and Google Play Music. Google for the songs that Spotify doesn't have, and for the higher sound quality. Spotify for its universal access. Can play Spotify on Xbox One, PS4, my phone, and basically everything else. I'd say Spotify is the most convenient of the bunch. I also like the fact I can upload any song to Google's service and stream it everywhere, which is really handy for custom tracks I have, or songs I bought on iTunes 10 years ago before realizing how shit iTunes was.

This totally goes against what I've been hearing. Hopefully it's true though. I've missed the day one update crashes.

#3 connection not secure? in Site Discussion

Actually this error is going to keep happening until TFTV adds an SSL certification to secure the site. There's a pretty big push by search engines and web browsers to get every site secured.

#225 TFCL - North American League in Projects

I managed to get a deal going with GameServers.com to include TFCL's configs and current season maps on every single one of their TF2 servers. If you rent a server from them, you can easily add all maps and cfg files from the Mods section of your control panel.
As time goes on I'll include more maps, and also provide updates to the configs directly on their panel. Will hopefully get all major 6's maps on there as well, whether they're used in TFCL or not.

I'm going to try to get similar stuff going with other major providers, but for now, GameServers.com is the only one that officially hosts our stuff.

edit:
Maps and Configs are now split into two separate "mods" so you can install them separately. This way whenever a new map is released, you won't have to lose any cfg edits you made.

ohaiderelow-mid open team

this sid guy cant lead a team for shit and the demo is super annoying and feeds non stop

you dont want to join this team

also didnt quit this team cuz of mge it was cuz u guys didnt improve or listen lol

You quit the team twice, and yes, one was because you got into an argument on an MGE server with abridge. You ended up removing everyone from your friends list, and later added everyone back and said you didn't mean to remove them.
The second time you quit was when you tried to basically bring abridge with you. Twigs then decided to ask you to ring for us, which I straight up said no. That's when you got angry and removed everybody again. Since then, we've had zero contact.

You basically ended up splitting the team in two. Myself and abridge were the only two people defending you, but eventually I just had enough. I mean, you disrespected everybody, and actually made a ringer cry. Like, the dude actually cried because you just wouldn't stop yelling at him. I get that he was making mistakes during the scrim, and that he stayed in mumble for longer than we wanted him to, but you didn't have to go full out on the kid.

You're a good player, there's no denying that. But when half the team is constantly fighting with the other half? We lost synergy, and no one wanted to listen to your calls because they quite simply didn't like or trust you. You'd also leave mumble the instant the match or scrim was done. We'd typically stay in mumble and talk about what happened, what we did wrong, and how we can all improve together moving forward. You were never a part of those chats, because you didn't see a need to be there. You didn't help us to improve, you just expected it without putting any effort in yourself.

I'm not the most experienced leader, and I still have a lot to learn as a player. I'll be the first to admit that. That isn't to say I'm not trying. I tried to organize team talks after every match and scrim. I tried to get you into these discussions, but you'd always ignore me on steam. A team, to me at least, is a single unit of players that want to play and improve together. In a way, you were never really a part of the team. You just showed up sometimes and yelled at people, and then left as soon as we tried to talk about what we did wrong, and how to fix it moving forward.

#14 INSIGHT - Competitive arena FPS now on Kickstarter in Other Games

If you want the most success, I highly suggest porting this game to the PS4, and reaching out to Sony to try and get it included in their PS Plus offering. That's what Rocket League did, and look at how it turned out for them.

I'll send a tweet out for your kickstarter, and also promote it a bit on Facebook. (3k follows, 10k likes)
It won't be much, but I'll help however I can.

#1 What's a good mousepad? in Hardware

My mousepad for some reason doesn't register my mouse in the top right corner, and i have no idea why. So i'm in the market for a new one.
I don't have much desk space, so I'm not able to get one of those giant mousepads.

Prefer cloth, but a hard plastic is fine as well. Just want something that works, and I've gone through a few over the last year that warp or have the seams tear, creating an uneven surface. So I'm hoping somebody here knows of a brand or specific pad that is known to be reliable and lasts a fair while.

Also, do the more expensive mousepads actually provide some kind of advantages in game? Some claim to be "gamer optimized" or whatever. Is that shit true, or just clever marketing? Either way, I'd be willing to pay a bit more if it meant the thing won't fall apart in a few months.

#4 LFP Low-Mid Open in Recruitment (looking for players)
LaxsonI hope Sidular gets a team that starts to improve. I do not know why it never goes well.

Last two seasons hardly anyone on the roster got along, to a point where we'd argue with ourselves, and just not play the game with any synergy or coordination. Nobody listened to calls because nobody respected the calls, even if the calls were good. Things just didn't quite fit into place.

This time I'm hoping to take charge, and lead the team how I want to lead it. Basically, with the idea to improve, and just have fun with players that aren't toxic or otherwise prone to removing people at random and/or throwing a match for keys. I tend to start off with this mindset each season and then move away from it as others with louder voices (and more toxic attitudes) tend to take over the general calling. Because these players are typically far more experienced than myself, I'd let it slide and just go with the flow. That never brought good results. I mean, from skateboard pete to akemi. Huge dm potential, but also huge attitudes and egos. Never personally had a big issue with skp, but akemi was... not the friendliest guy around. Hell, he ended up quitting the team for a day and removing everyone off his friends list over a fight he had with our roamer on an mge server over whether or not soldier was harder than demo.

So, yeah. That's why I'm mostly reforming the roster again, this time with actual players that are just looking to have fun. I'm going to be doing some rather odd calling and strategies, and so long as everyone gets along with each other, I strongly believe that this team has potential to be something truly great. I mean, I of course want to win as well, but if we lose it won't be the end of the world to me. I just want to give new and unique strategies a try, things i've been working on for several seasons but never had the chance to test out due to the previous rosters. I mean, my first ever season in ESEA when I went 8/8, we actually had an okay synergy, even if we didn't get along for a fair while, we worked out our differences. Every season since then? Just not able to work shit out.

And, uh. Yup, I wrote an essay. Yay.

#38 "bind s kill" $500 tournament in TF2 General Discussion

Hey, I know this tournament sounds... odd. But I'd actually be willing to get in on this with TFCL, if you're serious about hosting it.
Hosting weird things that are potentially silly and fun to watch is basically one of my primary plans moving forward. So send me a PM or add me on Steam if you're serious about this tournament, and we'll talk about getting it set up.
