#46 Improved default HUD in Customization

I still can't get the damage numbers to change. I have tried deleting all of the huddamageaccount.res files except for the one I want to use (and making sure it's named properly). I have tried all the different options for damage numbers, but it never changes from the default tiny white numbers that come with the hud. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Jump maps are also good.

#45 Improved default HUD in Customization
EnierevanillaI switched out the .res files in order to use the big yellow numbers, but for some reason there was no change; it's still using the default numbers that come with your hud (small and white). You need to rename huddamageaccount_yellow.res to huddamageaccount.res then type hud_reloadscheme into console.
vanillaAlso, there is no server timer underneath the round timer on the hud, how do I enable that?Type tf_hud_show_servertimelimit 1

I have taken all these measures, including restarting tf2, I still don't see any differences. I'll try again though.

EDIT: the server timer is working, the damage numbers are still the original ones for some reason.

I'm on a mac if that makes any difference.

#16 how would you guys like a monthly tf2 tourny? in TF2 General Discussion
WithADanceNumberWould be nice if there was a merc pool where you could sign up individually and get shuffled into either an incomplete team, or a team of other mercs.

I would definitely play if this was an option.

#10 UGC Plat Highlander Grand Finals: Menace to Society vs. Gentlemen's Club in Events

Maps that they played eachother on in the same series (i.e. the grand finals) should be removed from the map pool after being played.

I'm disappointed they couldn't choose three new maps. We just watched these teams duke it out on gullywash and viaduct, couldn't they have chosen two other alternatives?

#4 Japanese-styled video game artwork in Other Games
Daggerwhy are you visiting the chive?

I'm in a beer of the month club (basically the local beer store gives me like 5 random beers from around the world each month to try), and one of them was the beer that The Chive made. I had never heard of The Chive so I went to their website and saw this. I saw a bunch of other stupid shit and soft-core porn on there, but this thing actually seemed pretty cool.

#1 Japanese-styled video game artwork in Other Games

I saw this an thought it was pretty cool

A lot of them I didn't recognize which game they were referring to, but most of them are pretty obvious (and incredible).

I've played some highlander with him, and he seems to be a really cool guy, very easy to hang out with in mumble. GL finding a team!

#8 Med Primary in TF2 General Discussion

Overdose is nice if your team has been losing midfights and you find yourself constantly needing to run away to survive.

But basically crossbow is the greatest. Burst healing can be super clutch, and there are so many areas where you can quickly fire an arrow that can make things easier for your team (into blands bats from choke as you push to spire, etc.) Hitting an enemy med for 75dmg from gray bridge as he pushes through choke can be pretty huge.

#21 Best spy loadout for 6s? in TF2 General Discussion
remedyIMO the amby is better than letranger for 6s, it helps you salvage failed stab attempts and really you only need enough cloak to get behind the other team. the revolver's damage is also pretty underrated. letranger is good for being invisible long enough to just walk around forever and uncloak at the perfect time, but if you need that much time i feel like cnd would be better

I disagree with this only because 9/10 times you're going to be going spy to push last. This means that the enemy team should all be overhealed. If you miss a stab, getting 102 damage on anyone but the medic is pretty much inconsequential, and odds are you won't have time to get more than like 2 shots off before you get completely obliterated. I think spy in 6s (again, while pushing last or breaking a stalemate) is all about whether or not you can pick someone important. I think it's all about that stab, so the strongest loadout would be stock watch (CnD depending on the map) and the l'etranger.

If you manage to gun down someone as a spy, it's generally either because they fucked up or you got lucky. I can't find the clip, but insert killing's amby spy play as an example of being lucky.

#71 THE REMATCH IS REAL in TF2 General Discussion
oov_douchebaglafaa123At this point what would you expect UGC to do? They already made their decision, going back on it would just create more backlash about how they cant stick to their decisions. It's better to go back on an incorrect decision than set a precedence that will cause further issues in the future. Snowblindfrog should admit he made a mistake and apologize to GC, but the match result should stand. Its obvious he decided this without thinking of all the issues this will cause in the future, and how badly it reflects on the league. As much backlash as there would be with reversing the decision it is still the correct option to go with, and in the long run will make the league look better.

Wouldn't that set a precedence that UGC doesn't stick to their decisions? I feel like this is a lose-lose situation for the admins after deciding to have the rematch.

Regardless of all the drama, I'm just excited to see another round between these teams. Not to mention it'll be the biggest grudge match of the century. EVERYTHING IS ON THE LINE.

Biggest bummer is that it was such a goddamn good match up until the pause, it would've been nice to see it play out without any of the drama.

Hopefully the rematch is as exciting.

More specifically, play 32-person custom map rotation pubs. It'll give you more things to headshoot, more things that will try to flank you (forcing you to deal with those situations), and it will put you out of your comfort zone in terms of map knowledge, you won't be able to abuse the well known sniper sightlines that you already use.
