#11 UGC Plat Playoffs - MF9K vs. GC in Events

I think my favorite moment from the GC match on badwater was grape dropping the med with a sticky trap that Acooma was calling out for him. Teamwork baby, I'm looking forward to more of that from GC.

2-1 GC

#15 LF Sniper/Soldier mentor in Mentoring

It sounds like you mostly want help with your DM, so just practice. A mentor won't help you with that.

If you want help with the other stuff, then get on a team so that you can record demos of yourself playing in official scrims and matches, and then maybe you'll get a mentor that can watch through them with you.

You should double check that vods get saved, because I know a lot of streamers don't check that and nobody can watch their vods. Definitely do this though, would be awesome.

TriniusThis was a beautiful piece of coding, and I would love to see it implemented in some form of Matchmaking system. Also, pyro is definitely viable. I'd love to see more teams break the meta of 6s and start playing with some real offclasses. Just imagine Huey or Satan on full time pyro for mix^.

Satan is playing fulltime pyro for a 6s team right now as far as I know, I think they're in plat 6s in UGC. A full time pyro on mix^ would definitely not fit in with their playstyle because pyro tends to slow down the game, and Mix^ is all about being aggressive and moving quickly off tiny advantages.

Fulltime pyro might work in 6s, but I think its biggest weaknesses (low mobility, can't really kill anything unless in melee range) outweigh its biggest strengths (prevents most spam, airblast). Good teams should be able to deal with a pyro pretty easy, even if they are as good as Satan or someone, just have the scouts midrange the pyro and hitscan him to death.

On topic, it would be pretty sweet to see some events using the Dotafortress thing more often, it was super entertaining! Maybe implement it with the 4v4 format? It might work more smoothly with that gametype.

#50 ESEA-Invite: Classic Mixup vs Froyotech in Events
MR_SLINi'm kind of sad that the street hoops vs XTS game got overlooked but hopefully someone can cast it

Wait are you saying they happened at the same time? Or is it yet to happen?

Either way, someone should definitely cast Street Hoops vs XTS, even if it's a belated cast from the stv.

#18 rip sven in TF2 General Discussion

Whether people like him or not, he generally had a solid number of people watching tf2 get played. In the end, what he did was hopefully beneficial for the community, and hopefully it got some more players interested in the comp side of things.

They were trying Serv0 out on pocket last night during their scrims against XTS.

What did paragon say that got his post nuked?

#42 Do you PUG? Why/Why Not? in TF2 General Discussion

The tf2mix pugs always seem to end up with one team trolling while steamrolling, and the other team getting really mad, so they are never a fun experience for me. I remember having a lot of fun playing in pug.na a while back, but nowadays it seems that either nobody else is in the channel, or it's all high level players and I never get picked. Every other pug in pug.na seems to have roughly the same 12 players in it.

The best pugs I've had are in-house ones, but I'm not always available when those seem to happen, so I generally just play tf2center.

I'd love to be able to pug more seriously with higher level players on a more consistent basis. Because I don't have enough time to actually play on a team atm, it's the only way for me to play 6s. I know that it's probably ridiculous to hope for this, but I'd love a pug group that actually takes it kind of seriously, a way for me to have a substitute for 6v6 scrims with actual teams.

#208 TotH discussion in TF2 General Discussion

Can someone post some of the highlights from today's stream? I didn't get to watch all of it, and I don't want to sift through the entire vod to find the best stuff.

Also, what was the final total for donations?

Can someone list off a few of the highlights so that I can go back and watch the vods? I wasn't able to watch today, and I don't want to sift through that many hours of streaming to find the best stuff.

#16 Fantasy TV show recommendations in Off Topic

Dang, these all look good, I'll have to start checking some of them out.

As far as Archer is concerned, it's a great show, and comes as close as any other show has towards matching Arrested Development. But AD is still better (at least in my biased opinion).

It is comforting to note that at least 4 people from AD have also been on/starred in Archer.

#1 Fantasy TV show recommendations in Off Topic

I am looking for a good fantasy show to pick up and start watching. I love Firefly and Game of Thrones, so hopefully you guys have some suggestions of stuff along those lines. It could be sci-fi, medieval, and to be honest, even if it's not strictly fantasy, but just a good show, I still will probably check it out.
