I was watching a few TF2 youtube channels back then, probably starting with extv and the top 10 tf2 plays. I was somewhat interested in the comp scene but never really knew where to go and when stuff was happening. I came across Beater's promo video for the ETF2L Season 19 Finals, watched the stream and really fell in love with comp ever since. I even started actually playing in the archimedes cup and the ongoing seasons a few months later. Thanks, Beater! :)

Try to contact and attract orgs or sponsors maybe? You could also get in touch with admins and try to organize stuff for tftv, leagues, lans or whatever. Might not sound that appetizing but if you're looking to do something productive, these are the people who are greatly needed. :)
