#19 RGL.gg is coming to Europe with a $1,000 prizepool in TF2 General Discussion
sigafooTuryHow many of those people have actually played 6's before on a team? Those replies sound like something someone whose only played TF2Center or played ugc 6s for one season would say.
I believe when they talk about the "dynamic"-ness of it, they're more referencing that class selection is more dynamic in Prolander than sixes. In sixes you see only a subset of classes in the game for a majority of the game. Whereas in Prolander all classes virtually all class are genuinely viable at all times.

When it comes to to actual dynamic-ness of strategy (how to push, what routes, how to break stalemates, etc...) I don't think you could say sixes (or any format really) isn't dynamic in that way. Of course it is.

If you're going for dynamicness then UGC 4's would be even more dynamic as you can only have 4 classes instead of 7, which means you need to put even more thought and strategy into your classes.

But that gamemode is horrible and probably the worst competitive gamemode to exist. Being more dynamic isn't always necessarily a good thing.

What people have to say about Prolander
  • "Yes! 7s is my favorite format. More dynamic than 6s, Less clunky/congested than HL."
  • "Yeah, it was fun to play competitive for the first time, and I liked that you could class switch."
  • "Prolander is my favorite format to watch competitive TF2, and it was also fun to play."
  • "it was a an interesting take on highlander that really mixes it up. there was a lot of discussion on my team on what maps we needed certain classes on for strategy purposes."

#72 nerf pyro in TF2 General Discussion

I don't think this is an overall solution, but maybe taking the pyros health from 175 down to 150 or even 135 would make a slight difference? And reducing the range of the flame thrower by a significant amount would mean that the pyro has to get closer to people so they can't WM1 at people as easily either.

ArguedOysterI don't synthesize false credibility as a psychologist. Anyone who cares about diagnoses can look up a basic definition and decide for themselves. I'm not going to argue anything on your cry-for-help thread.

And let's be clear. This is a cry-for-help thread.Puoskarievery time so often I am in such pain, I could pop a mix of things and disappear for good, natural selection is extinctagain https://i.imgur.com/mqIg8ye.png

Please don't try to generate sympathy from strangers on the internet by posting how painful your life is. It might make you feel better, but it solves no issues.
Please do get professional help.
Literally all I'm saying.

Seriously shut the fuck up. Get the fuck out of here with your internet psychologist bullshit and go fuck yourself. You literally google the definitions of mental illnesses and then try to act like some god tier psychologist.

ArguedOysterPlease don't try to generate sympathy from strangers on the internet by posting how painful your life is. It might make you feel better, but it solves no issues.

This is actually retarded. "If you feel sad and you eat candy, it might make you feel better but it solves no issues, talk to a professional". Making a thread like this can be a coping skill for his depression.

Telling people that you feel like killing yourself and actually going in depth about it can actually make you feel less suicidal. It's worked for me a lot of times. Same thing as writing a suicide note, by the time you're done writing it it's possible that you feel better just getting everything off of your chest.

And the one thing that destroys this whole stupid argument, what's the point of other forums like r/SuicideWatch? Are you going to go over there and tell all of the people who post over there that they are all sociopaths and that posting there isn't going to help them? There is no difference between this thread and any of the threads on that subreddit.

squishDuMmTmbecause publicly shaming people clearly makes you the bettter personSo lets say someone shoots up a school, is it not okay to show his face on the news?

Actually it's better to not show their face or name to give them fame/ attention for what they did, but the media does it anyways, but that's besides the point. This analogy is horrible, shooting up a school is not the same thing as some retards flaming your profile. The shit they said honestly wasn't anything worth getting worked up over, they didn't make personal attacks on you, all they did was call you bad and the typical "kys ur bad" childish shit.

squishdamneasyWhat is this going to accomplish?

edit:
Okay I checked out the screenshot/profile, guess this is an epic joke? got me XD
No. i just wanted it to be known that theres alot of jerks out there that think they can just say whatever they want and just be mean just to be mean

Literally anyone who has ever been on the internet, especially playing video games online knows this. Making this thread is just a waste of time and this excuse for making this thread is pathetic. You made this thread because you got butt hurt over some retards who aren't worth your time calling you bad and you made a thread about it.

My advice is just ignore them, block them delete their comments or whatever. It's really not worth letting it get to you this much, especially given the people who are saying it really are in no position to be calling other people bad.

#45 FACEIT Hub Discussion in TF2 General Discussion
b4nnyIf we create an orderly system where each player takes their responsibility to show up and play seriously, I really don't think we NEED a substitute system for this to succeed. What do you guys think?

I like the idea of creating a culture where people take responsibility for being able to play the full pug. Something like this exists in the CoD WAW Zombies community for custom maps due to the fact that once a game launches, if someone leaves it's impossible for them to join back or for anyone else to join. A general rule of thumb that most people try to follow is that if you know for a fact that you can't at least play for a hour or more, don't play in the first place so you don't waste other peoples time. And I think something like that could exist for TF2, it somewhat does like how most decent people won't join a pug 30-40 minutes before they are supposed to scrim.

But I think even if people did that, I feel like being able to FFL a game could lead to a team of people who are getting rolled to FFL the game out of anger, and try to get elo back. Of course if reported they would be punished for abusing the FFL system, but again it ruins the pug for the other team. And that's really my main concern is the quality of the pugs, if a substitutions system isn't the route that they want to take, I think having something where a player who is trolling or leaves can be dealt with, without having to cancel the pug would be good.

If someone leaves, maybe there could be a command that people can use that would say "we need a X class replacement", and then it would check to see if that player was in the server and if they were gone longer than 5 minutes, if so then someone could take a substitution for the class, if the player was still in game or was rejoining the server/ the 5 minutes wasn't up, it wouldn't sub them out of the game. It's still a substitution system, but it would only sub out players that abandoned the match. Doesn't fix the problem with trolls, but at least a whole pug wouldn't have to be ruined by 1 person leaving.

#3 FACEIT Hub Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

Not having a substitution system would be a really huge problem imo. If someone leaves for whatever reason 5 minutes into the pug now you have to play the rest of the pug at a disadvantage which isn't fun, and if someone's trolling there's no way to remove them from the game until it's over and then you have to go through the reporting process. I think having a substitution system whether the captain can do it like PugChamp or a team sub system like tf2center, would help with the quality of the games.

As for classes and getting people to play medic, the primary reason that I play medic in PugChamp is because I want to get better at medic and the game in general, so I try to play with people who are better than me so I can learn from them. That's why I never really cared to play on Faceit even though it offered prizes for playing. But I think offering prizes would definitely be a good incentive for people to play medic, but it could also get people who just play the class and don't really try just to get free stuff.
