Could we get source code to go with it ? Thanks
MakCan someonr actually give me a use case for cloud gaming for anyone looking to play games seriously, or at all for that matter. How does this shit even have a market, never seen or heard about it being used except for in advertisements.
There are a few decent usecases for cloud gaming/cloud desktops but esports can't really be one of them without magical internet (minuscule ping to the cloud and consistent download rate), it'd probably be an OK setup if the servers were in the same building.
Cloud gaming is definitely catered towards the normie who can't notice 1ms to 30ms input delay and who'd rather have a small magical box or a tablet and pay a subscription rather than having to buy and upgrade hardware
A decent application would be video editors who need insane hardware and RAM, the input delay isn't critical, that's a huge hassle solved for the company employing that editor
It's also probably very interesting for cybercafes, a lot of the painful work (working with Windows, buying and maintaining hardware) magically disappears, your users could only break peripherals, etc. In the case of TF2: you would only need to install your config once, you could download all your demos from home, admins could peek at your video output to see if you're cheating (not really TF2, right ..?)

Anyone got screenshots?
ondkajaConclusion: Crouching or staying uncrouched does have an effect on the knockback you receive.
good, im closimg this fucking trheerad
I think you're taking a pretty bad approach to this, consider the following:
If you were to take 1000 new players and observed their gameplay, they would (after a long period of time, granted) discover by themselves that crouching does mean higher knockback forces, they would discover it completely by themselves, without the help of anyone else or any preconceived ideas, I think that's pretty much why everyone is telling you that you're wrong, they have experienced first hand the thing that you're questioning (making smug/snarky comments does not help your case either)
I appreciate you going through code, but there are massive flaws in your reasoning:
- The code base is huge, I doubt you could map a mental model of any major component this quickly
- Have you compiled the code ? Have you made modifications proving your understanding is complete?
- We're talking about C++, literally any component could modify memory directly
- Shit just isn't that black and white, VALVe are known to do a lot of "game feel" type of development, just because the behavior you're searching for isn't explicitly defined in code doesn't mean it wasn't implicitly programmed because it "felt better", that doesn't make it a bug, jesus christ
why don't you just get a server and actually try the theory out
afaik the reason being crouched would give you more knockback is because in the case of explosions, the knockback is calculated based on the distance from the explosion to the player's camera or the center of his model, i can't really remember which
Zolakwhy creating all this shitstorm?
The first page and a half was brigaded by the bottom of the European barrel to stir up a controversy on the basis that, if they lie and cry hard enough, the situations "Degu/Pred" and "Samski/Puo" would be considered "equal" and therefor the outcome should be the same, unfortunately for them, in the real world, those situations are not the same.
Wandumtwiikuuye thats why you deleted the stream clips?KissakalaWas it on Pred or Degu to decide how they wanted to go from the point where they said the things they did.
From our end and our reach, I think we are treating equally, e.g. in the Degu/Pred thread, TFTV Mods only removed posts when breaking TFTV rules, which would have happened on any thread.
I just checked internally to see who deleted those, I had assumed it was whoever nuked Krafty's link in this thread for the same reason (we didn't know what was happening), after checking TFTV admin logs, Samski nuked three messages in Stream highlights, then un-nuked them, then nuked them again. Samski had access to the admin panel as he's commonly helping with casts and organization, we asked Enigma to disabled his access for the time being, this is very much another slip on our end, apologies. Posts were un-nuked just now.

I think you extrapolated from the phrasing, I think it clearly means "we're not stopping whatever needs to happen from happening".

That's the extent of what we're gonna do, keep the thread clean, we don't have control over league decisions.
KissakalaStaying civil: [..] Internet 2018.
I'm gonna go on a tangent; a lot of the posts in this thread are in bad faith and I think it's disappointing. I hope to be wrong in your case.
Hello,
We (TFTV mods) were ignorant of what the actual context was until it came out and we apologize for pre-emptive nuking. Now that we have not only confirmed Samski is physically okay and not at risk of self-harm, as well as confirmed the context of what was actually going on, we are not defending Samski for his words against Puoskari, given the context of Puoskari's history and the insensitivity of Samski's words
It is on Samski to decide how he wants to go from here, whether he still chooses to distance from the community, or publicly / privately will apologize to Puoskari, as well as if Puoskari does demand an apology, and however leagues would like to react
Additionally, we will make sure to review content more as we do have a nuke offensive content rule and Samski's comments fall under the No Personal Attacks rule. But because Cat/Krafty were not Samski, we will refocus that rule to direct postings from OP in terms of context
Please do attempt to stay civil in this conversation.
Thanks.
Thespikedballofdoomthat might put tf2pl in a hard spot.
