#8 The Razer mousewheel problem. in Hardware

Sounds like the scroll wheel is wearing out, my 2 year old DA has a pretty loose scroll wheel that randomly scrolls on its own. There's not much you can do to fix the DA's scroll wheel, it's a different kind of design that's not easy to perform maintenance on.

The only things I could suggest would be to either get another DA, or try something like the EC1 which has a pretty similar shape as the DA with a more durable scroll wheel.

Here's a thread with some information: http://www.overclock.net/t/1169826/deathadder-be-loose-wheel

#35 Cloth Vs Plastic Mousepads in Hardware

Should probably look into the EC1, the EC2 is palmable if you have smaller hands. I never really found the AM to work well with a palm grip, it's just too narrow and the profile of the mouse is just too low for a comfortable palm grip.

That said, you can't really go wrong with the G400 or DA either.

#7 144hz not always smooth? in Q/A Help

Are you running windowed mode? I find that my game will cycle refresh rates for whatever reason when I run windowed borderless.

If you're running flux that could be a problem, I recently discovered that flux would make my game very choppy whenever it would change color temperatures and if I had a browser open.

#109 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware

I have one, I haven't really used it that much but I'll share my thoughts on it. I think it performs better than my old Viewsonic 120hz, objects in motion look a lot less blurry on the Asus than the Viewsonic and the image quality is a lot better once you tweak the awful stock colors.

I also tested LightBoost for most of the day and while everything looked much more fluid than non-LB 120/144hz, it gave me a really bad headache. Apparently the way the screen refreshes while in LightBoost mode can give people problems if they're sensitive to flicker induced refreshes, so if you've had problems with high refresh rate CRT's then you'll probably have problems with LightBoost. You also have to have an Nvidia card and the newer Nvidia drivers that cause texture flickering on DX8. YMMV when it comes to LB basically.

Keep your eyes on the Asus VG248QE threads at OCN and HardForum as there are some knowledgeable people there that are getting their hands on the Asus.

#8 benq xl2411T vs. asus vg248QE (both 144hz) in Hardware

The VG248QE is brand new so not a lot of people have them yet, I ordered one last week and it should be here this week so I'll be able to give you some feedback on it when it gets here.

That said, if its anything like the VG278 then it'll probably have slightly more input lag than the BenQ and better image quality than the BenQ. No word on how the 248QE stacks up to the 2411t while running lightboost, the 2411 is currently the best Lightboost monitor right now with nearly no motion blur and no ghosting.

I'd skip over the 2410t especially at that price, you could get a 2420T for that kind of money if you really wanted a BenQ.

#9 Need desktop microphone in Hardware

I think Logitech discontinued that microphone, it's listed as discontinued/out of stock at most online retailers. If you can find one then it's pretty solid, sound quality isn't the best but it does the job.

Here are some alternatives: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Labtec-Desktop-Microphone-600/dp/B000O7K4LO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358392809&sr=8-1&keywords=desktop+mic

#2 Is this a fake wmo? in Hardware

The WMO in the first link looks odd, the cable looks completely different than the one on my WMO's, it's missing the ferrite bead at the end of the cable, and the plug is not the same. I could be wrong but I wouldn't risk it.

The rest of the links look to be ok. I've seen the "Dacheng" one thrown around on esreality and iirc its legit.

The whole X08 thing is related to the IME 3.0, X08 3.0's are considered to be of a higher quality than the more recent 3.0's.

According to AnimaL from the etf2l forums you can add this http://pastebin.com/tZsByP4a

#7 dx8 last person to join? in Q/A Help

Turning on bumpmapping fixed my problems with dx8, I guess you could turn it on and give it a shot.

mat_bumpmap 1

No guarantees that it'll work but it could be a possible solution for some.

You have a "flawless" G400.

It doesn't matter, the drivers don't affect the way the mouse tracks anymore so you should have the same results regardless of whether or not the drivers are installed.
