I love concord grapes but I can never find them :<
Sorry if i made it seem like i think roamers are a terrible class. I just mean that theyre not quite as powerful/vital to a teems success as any other combat class. I just feel like they need a slight buff in one form or another. Stronger roamers could also speed up the game and lessen the time of stalemates
...then again i play stand on the crate and shoot the sky scout so maybe my views are a little skewed >___>
Thank you for minus fragging the shit out of me and making me feel stupid enlightening me with knowledge that I can use to improve my understanding of the metagame. I will stop thinking of roamers as a shitty class and instead, think of them like a more generally applicable pick class. Roamers arent just shitty airborne cannon fodder thrown at the enemy medic hoping to make him pop. They're valiant, selfless warriors willing to sacrifice their life for the greater good of their team.
You're definitely right, defy. Its just kinda confusing how I always hear that roamer is the worst class in 6v6, but theyre pretty much the only ones capable of pulling off super retarded aggressive maneuvers to make a medic pop.
By the way, I want to make it clear that I don't think that roamers need a huge buff, just a small one.
pls enlighten me defy.
If you don't wanna read some 3rd highest division of ESEA player's meta class balance theory thread then press the backspace button now. thanks 8)
The roamer is often considered to be the weakest standard class/role in the cookie cutter line up. They're considered to be pretty unimportant, even less than a scout. If this is true then shouldn't people be asking valve for a buff?
I think the best way to buff roamers would be to buff the gunboats by reverting the nerf so that they only take 10dmg or whatever it was per jump. I'm sorry if gunboats were indeed OP before the nerf. I stopped playing tf2 for a long time just after the soldier/demo update so I wasn't really around for it.
In HL soldier's usually roam and are considered to be one of the most unimportant classes so a buff would probably good for HL too.
Should something be done about those poor roamers or are they "underpowered" in a way that it makes the game better?
DrPloxocapnfapnwhat if instead of +frags and -frags every post had a an ubercharge meter that gets +1% uber for every time someone clicks + and -1% everytime the - button gets clicked. When the meter gets to 100% the post has a red or blue background. If it goes to -100 the post turns to "USER DROPPED UBER, click here to see the message"because then we devolve into youtube.

VILE IS IN MUMBLE WITH BAPE HES DDOSING TO GET OUT OF OPEN!!!!1!!!!!!!!1
I'm bored and sick at home so I thought I would write a guide for off classing as spy in 6v6. I know some of its probably really obvious but its a guide so of course there has to be obvious stuff.

----------------------------------------
The spy is one of the less commonly used utility classes in 6v6. It is most commonly used to get medic/demo picks when there's a stalemate and your team is looking for an advantage so they can push into their last. If you're a scout or roamer on your team then it is your job to play the utility classes when they're needed.
The most commonly used watched watch in 6v6 is the invisibility watch, but the cloak and dagger is also really useful because you can wait for the perfect time to strike because you're like XxXsneakysasaukeXxX or something yo 8)
The dead ringer is useful for when you want to distract the other team or gimmicky DR spy last point back caps but its not the best for getting s1ck medic picks. The gun you pick doesn't really matter but if you have viewmodels on pick the ambassador because there's a hot girl on the gun.
The best time to go spy is when you die while attacking the 2nd point and you know that there's going to be a stalemate on last. You can suicide into them during the stalemate to go switch classes but it makes it really obvious that you're going to go either spy or sniper. The best time to go spy is when they don't see it coming. (that doesnt mean go spy to mid -_- )
Ok so you have successfully switched classes to spy and you wanna go pick the medic. When you have decided which entrance you have decided to go through tell your teammates to not stand in the doorway so that you dont get hit with random spam.If you're wondering what you should disguise as, it should probably be scout, or maybe even sniper. Once you're behind them and its safe to uncloak, ask your team to spam the combo while you uncloak to cover up the noise and force the enemy combo to look forward. At this point you should go for the medic melee-range back click , otherwise known as the backstab. If you die well that sucks but all it does is make your kdr look bad because your team isn't really gonna be put at much of a disadvantage if you go down.
Lets be optimistic and say you stabbed the medic. Unless you know for sure that you can get another stab because the medic and pocket were super close together, start shooting kids up with your revolver so you get some damage out to help your team. The other team is probably going to focus you once you stab somebody so make sure to get as much damage out as quickly as you can.
One of the less common, but potentially game changing times to go spy is when your team wipes at mid and the other team is going to be rolling straight in to your last with an uber advantage. If you're the first person to go down at mid you might wanna go spy so you can drop the medic before they push in to last. One of the nice things about going spy when this happens is that the enemy will be focused on rushing ahead as fast as they can so that your team can't set up a good defense or get uber. If you go down its not really that big of deal because your team was kinda screwed anyway, but if you do get the pick you completely ruin their push and your team will be able to set up a better defense and get uber.
The end.

EdycapnfapnPlease don't laugh... but I think pyro has some ~hidden potential~
reflect rocket jumping is pretty underutilized. I think its the most underrated skills for pyro tbh. Yesterday I was playing in tf2mix and I went pyro to mid, reflect rocket jumped across the point and airblasted the team through choke and kept them out. I think that highlander is going to get more aggressive and pyros will have to play more aggressive and be more mobile to keep up.
1)It's tf2mix, tf2mix is really bad.
2)The soldier needs to feed you a rocket, which isn't going to happen (smart soldiers anyway) unless hes bombing/shooting one of your important classes (med/demo/sniper?)
3)It's tf2mix..
And lets say you do pull off a reflect rocket jump on mid. Some of the high level snipers in ugc can get a midair headshot on this pyro. The pyro could also get called out more then easily and shot by the heavy/scout/minisentry/pretty much anything that could look up into the sky.
In that case you'll die and the enemy soldier/scout/spy has a chance to get your med or demo in this mid fight. Something like that will never work unless the enemy team has autism.
1) HL is UGC, the majority of UGC is really bad.
2)I get fed rockets all the time when I play pyro in highlander.
3)Its ugc...
Yeah some of the good snipers can headshot you in midair but thats not very likely even for the best of them. You are right about getting destroyed by the heavy and minisentry. I still think that there are many situations where it can be effective as a surprise tactic.
