YeeHawMechaIs there a way to do anything about killing pugs all the time to let players who just finished a game in? When there's a draft where bad players have a chance to get picked it usually gets killed. It makes it very hard for the bad/unknown players to ever get to play.thats not a problem with the site, thats a problem with people not wanting to play with bad players (which makes sense)

>24 ppl added, teams half composed of invite players get picked, pug starts
>12 ppl are left, picking starts 30 minutes later after someone finally adds as med
>first pug ends
>"pls kill so X player who is going to get picked every single time they add up anyway can play again!"

if ppl dont want to play with bad players all they need to do is wait 5 minutes for the draft to b open again. Its not about bad players, its about impatience.

#132 lol b4nny in TF2 General Discussion

honestly, I think b4nny just needs to find passion in something other than tf2. His self esteem is way too dependent on tf2 and it has to be really stressful to have your livelihood depend on a game you know isn't going anywhere. I don't know that much about his life outside of tf2, but I think it would really help him grow as a person if he found something else to be good at. I'd love to see b4nny spend more time exploring his other interests and see where that takes him. I know he likes writing music and that would probably be a great emotional outlet for him and it would be a great way for him to prove to himself that he's more than just a really good tf2 player.

#360 tftv safe space (no harassment plz) in Off Topic

i've been getting really frustrated with tf2 because ive been playing forever but i still don't feel like i'm respected as a player. I don't really care about being "invite", i just want to be a player that others are scared of. It sucks when you've been playing for years but people still give you shit about being a throw pick on your main in pugs that arent even that high level. I know that when I'm playing at my best I'm a lot better than i think im given credit for, but I get tilted more often than people seem to realize because I try really hard to hide it. My silly, goofy, attitude hides a lot of my inner frustration and I'm so concerned about being liked as a person that I'm afraid to let people know i'm not in a good mood. Its not that i get angry, though i certainly do, its more that I get anxious which makes my aim really erratic and makes me focus on how well i'm doing instead of comms. in fact. i've noticed that i often click so hard out of anxiety that I unintentionally move my mouse >_< tbh, the whole reason why i made that direcile dysfunction thread is because i have legit tf2 performance anxiety.

I have a lot of trouble properly understanding calls when things are hectic in mumble which makes me look like a bot even though all that really happened is that I thought someone said "push!" when they really said "we should push". I tend to do a lot of things that aren't necessarily stupid, but they're dumb because I haven't been paying attention to where my teammates actually are and i'm just assuming where they should be.

#1 Missing Directs? This info could save your life! in Off Topic

Directile Dysfunction
Directile dysfunction is the inability to hit directs and airshots, along with deliberately waiting for airborne players to land before firing in some patients. Having trouble hitting directs from time to time isn't necessarily a cause for concern. If erectile dysfunction is an ongoing issue, however, it can cause stress, affect your self-confidence, contribute to relationship problems, and you will lose a lot at video games. Problems getting or keeping a high level of accuracy can also be a sign of an underlying health condition that needs treatment and is a risk factor for tilting.

If you're concerned about directile dysfunction, talk to your medic — even if you're embarrassed. Sometimes, treating an underlying condition is enough to reverse directile dysfunction. In other cases, a new sensitivity or a new HUD might be needed.

Symptoms

Directile dysfunction symptoms might include persistent:

  • Low damage per minute
  • Getting fatkidded
  • Reduced sexual desire

When to see a medic

Your team's medic is a good place to start when you have directile problems. See your medic if:

  • You have concerns about your directs or you're experiencing other DM problems such as premature or delayed rockets.
  • You are depressed and want to confess your deepest feelings to your truest love, have pocket soldier syndrome, or another known health condition that might be linked to directile dysfunction

Treatment:

Fortunately, most cases of directile dysfunction are easily treated within a few weeks of consistently playing DM and MGE on the floor. However, some cases of DD are caused by an imbalanced pelvic floor, which may only be getting tighter due to stress caused by missed shots.

The first step to re-balancing your pelvic floor is to determine whether it is too tight, too weak, or both. If you simply have trouble getting an erection, you most likely have a weak pelvic floor. If you ejaculate prematurely, you probably have a tight pelvic floor. A common sign of a tight pelvic floor is involuntary contractions while erect.

If you believe your pelvic floor is too weak, practice contracting your kegels (pretend you are holding in your pee) for the duration of your respawn and doing quick, light contractions during loading times.

In the case of a tight pelvic floor, simply apply reverse kegels (pretend you're trying to pee harder) to the routine above. regardless of the current status of your pelvic floor, good circulation and strong, well balanced glutes and thighs are critical aspects of your erection, so make sure to do squats, lunges, and similar exercises and stretches throughout the week.

#15 Pyro changes poll in TF2 General Discussion

I think flames are hilariously op right now, but at least it shouldn't be too much work for valve to fix it, though i've been wrong about that before lmao. The current implementation of this is horribly unbalanced, but I think its interesting that pyro is now actually good at taking on a large group. One of pyro's big issues is that it doesn't really have its own niche that it excels at while being used offensively. You're supposed to flank, but the tools for that are pretty mediocre and before the pyro update you didn't even do that much dps even if you did manage to get close. It would be pretty cool if valve could find a way to make pyro sort of like a close range version of the demoman with more "support" based abilities, so he'd be good at taking on groups, but not at 1v1s. This could be accomplished by making the flamethrower like a lightning gun, reducing the damage flames do, and reworking afterburn so that it does very little damage itself, but slightly increases the damage they take from other teammates.

#21 help against scout vs soldier mge? in TF2 General Discussion

Here's something I posted on Reddit a while ago that may help u.

rare scout movement tipz
u/capnfappin
I was going to post this in the scout movement thread but I figured what I had to say was uncommon enough to warrant bringing everyone's attention to it cuz its not just the typical "jump on props and airstrafe" stuff u see in every thread. also, my ego is huge.

The trick to making scouts miss their shots is making sure you aren't changing directions at a constant interval. If youre mashing your WASD keys randomly as fast as you can, you might be be changing directions completely randomly, but chances are you're switching directions at the same interval. When you're switching directions at a consistent rate they may not know how they're going to need to move their mouse, but they are going to know when.

Constantly switching distances and your angle of movement makes you considerably harder to track. When you're moving parallel to their field of view, you appear to be moving faster than when you're moving at a diagonal. The closer you are to them, the faster you move from one side of the screen to the other. Obviously, you're still moving at the same speed in terms of the game, but from the perspective of someone trying to aim at a point on a 2d plane, you're constantly changing speed which makes you more difficult to track.

One of the biggest aspects to improving your scout vs soldier DM is understanding how to move in a way that puts the difference in reload/fire rate between you and your enemy in your favor. For example, if he shoots a rocket at you, you're going to know much longer its going to be until he can fire the next one. By putting yourself in the air as soon as he's ready to fire his next shot, you're forcing him make a decision between going for a risky direct and waiting for you to land for an easier shot. This is really useful when he's at low health and you know that if you jump you can kill him before you land. Someone else made a thread about countering scouts, so here's what I wrote to him so you can get the other perspective.

A lot of soldier vs scout comes down to knowing what sort of shots to go for based on how long it'll take him to kill you and how much ammo you have in your clip. For example, If you're at low health and you have a full HP scout on your ass smashing their space bar, your best best might be to take a risk and try to get damage out as quickly as possible even if it means going for an airshot. If you have high HP then you can afford to wait for the scout to land for an easier shot because it'll take more time for him to kill you.

From what I've noticed, soldiers tend to misplace the distance of their rockets more often than aiming too far to the left or right so constantly changing your distance from soldiers is really important. It also messes with their sense of your speed just like it does when you're fighting a scout. When a soldier is trying to aim at a spot on the ground, the further away the spot is the smaller it is on his screen. This effect is amplified the lower he is from the spot, and the opposite happens for when he's above it. From the soldier's point of view, they ideally want to fire a rocket when you're close to them because its easier to aim at ground that's close and there's less rocket travel time to account for. You can take advantage of this by moving forward right before he's able to fire another rocket and moving backwards right as he should be ready to fire it. If you do this correctly, He'll either aim too close to himself, miss, and potentially take self-damage, or he'll have to spend more time aiming his shot at a point that is more difficult for him to hint.
