New weapons is fun for a bit but doesn't solve any long term problems. I am of the opinion tf2 really just need some balance changes (gutting the weapons touge mentioned) and optimizations so 240hz is viable for people with good computers without making the game look worse than half life 1
Why give him the oppurtunity to prove himself in a field of honor (why fight some dishonarable ASSHOLE??) when you can shrimply hold his entire family hostage and still get everything you wanted, with no chance for him to make some cheat to defeat you?
I don't know how this thread has looped back to newbie mixes when the problem people were identifying more was one you're past newbie mixes but still very new to comp to be a part of the community that is very fucked on how to improve
Durzo has irl problems rn, need a Flank scout for sure next week/couple weeks, potentially rest of szn.
Rn it feels like there's pretty much no reason for someone to want to come from a pub -> comp, and once they do, I think there's an alright amount of resources and access to like, ground level tf2 - nc/am in na, but past that, it pretty much becomes you need to know someone or else die and never learn. I feel that "halfway in the door" level is a place where a ton of people just get stuck (am-main specifically) and it can feel nearly impossible to push past that level. Invite players are simultaneously accessible to talk to in a pug or something, but it's pretty aids finding people who can mentor or make content for that level I'm mentioning. Ofc there are factors like not everyone want to, or they don't have the time etc. But I think it can also feel very unrewarding to spend time doing stuff only for no one to care, or mentoring someone that then ceases contact entirely or something. I'm not sure what could specifically be done for this, either. Needing to pay to learn the game sucks and although free resources are great, not everyone wants to commit that time.
Newbie mixes are cool and all but are really not enough. There should be way more resources into learning 6s than currently exist. I think a good if not sort of funny example is that the marmaloo how to play roamer on x map videos are one of the best resources to learning the game in recent time and I feel a similar style of videos or something is something that could exist much more commonly.
rktGODAny recommendations for a mousepad? I have my eyes on a mousepad by X-Raypad called Aqua Control 2 but I have also heard a lot of good things about Artisan mousepad especially the Hayate Otsu so I'm kind of torn between the two, one is $35 and the other is like $60+ depending on the thickness and size.
P.S. stitched edges is a must
Artisan has insanely good stitched edges. Artisan isn't that expensive for the pad itself, but the shipping cost is miserable if you order from the site directly. You can get them on amazon, but you need to make sure you're getting a real one and not some fake/clone of one. Hayate otsu, hien and zero are all very good. Aqua control 2 is really good but they're pretty much never in stock so that should be factored in I guess.
As chiefdog pointed out, there are significantly better options than cherry red switches. Never mind that keychron doesn't even sell actual mx reds and uses their own version.
The barebones they offer doesn't seem terrible, as $100 for an aluminum case, plate and PCB is a pretty good price. That being said, a keycap kit that will actually have all the weirdly sized keys a keychron board uses will likely be incredibly cheap feeling or cost more than the barebones keyboard on its own.
I think unless you absolutely love this format, you are better off finding either a tkl or 60% or something will do you a lot of favors in terms of keycap compatibility. Also looking into more types of linear switches beyond the surface level of just "reds" as their is a lot of options available to do so. In general, the build you outlined seems very bizarre, and although I can understand why you'd want it, I can't help but feel there is more to this all than you're missing. Paying for o rings, keyboard lube, new switches and keycaps, all for the ideal goal of creating a default mx red keyboard is like spending $300+ for a $70 keyboard (in terms of feel, visually and build quality wise what you're getting is much better ofc)
good video and great examples and detail. The unfortunate reality however is a lot of people don't even bother learning t3+ rocket jumping unless they're a roamer, with some pockets still swearing it doesn't matter, and people that don't play soldier especially don't care. I mention this because if people will be this stubborn on something people have really known for a decade will directly improve the player, I don't imagine something as revolutionary as demo jumping makes ur demo gameplay better and more versatile to stick anytime soon.
Regardless nothing I mentioned is Rumpus' fault in the slightest. I think this is an excellent and well-thought-out video that voices a lot of the opinions comp-jumper players have felt for ages. I hope people will be more open to discussing this topic as it is very neglected for demo.
Forcing a team to just not play is lame, even though they could roll through the quals teams i think that would've been a decision that had to be made weeks ago now. rgl shoud figure out what bans are what tho if they're deciding to go down that path.
I look forward to matches with all the teams (twice, only like 8 other teams lol)
Keeps telling me to download .NET, even though I have it downloaded. There could be another step I'm missing, or I'm an idiot (both?) but either way a fix or help would be nice if anyone has some info I'm clearly missing.
How do I take the match hud from one hud, and put it on another? The hud merger doesn't work for me, so I'm wondering how I am supposed to do it otherwise
