#7 Explosion Particles in High Framerate Recordings in Q/A Help
Twistyforestfiresyou can change the behaviour of the flying embers so they fade out after they contact with a surfaceAny idea how I would do that?

Assuming he's talking about editing the particle itself, the quickest way would be to launch the game with -tools and use the particle editor. however if you have SFM installed using SFM's particle editor is more convenient imo. The properties of each particle are fairly easy to understand so you shouldn't have any issues fixing it.

However its probably worth going with what wiethoofd said, although I'm not sure why you want to use frame blending in all honesty.

#8 is it only me? in TF2 General Discussion
TimTumyou can't blame the entire TF2 community just because of a few individuals, have you seen the support Console and others involved has gotten after his thread?

I do agree with you, but that's a bad example since tf2 players love to virtue signal.

what framerate are you recording at? I haven't seen this problem to this extreme before.

#8 what happend to tftv in Site Discussion

community slowly getting worse over the years (number of toxic people increasing as good people leave etc.) although some elements of tftv have always been an inaccurate representation of the entire community to be honest.

#19 Thoughts on new steam UI? in Off Topic

from a design point of view i definitely like it - the old steam was definitely starting to look very dated. I personally feel that the functionality has been made easier to access but I will admit I don't frequently use many steam features that I'm sure others have had issues with in this update.

Not sure I understand the hate its getting but I'm sure someone can prove me wrong here.

#27 job thread in Off Topic

Civil servant

I like it a lot because its exactly what i've wanted to do for a long time but never thought i'd get into due to how specialised the area is. The people are also very nice and the pay is decent for my age.

Only disadvantage is i'm there provisionally and will need to make sure i do well to get the full job.

#8 can u disable halloween souls visual effect in Customization

the particles themselves are enforced by sv_pure or something so it's not possible to disable them the way my mod achieves it (which is just replacing the particles with blank ones). Haven't really looked into other ways but since they are tied to an event it may be possible to disable it on the server side like you can with the birthday stuff.

You could also try preloading the mod but I doubt it will work.

#5 TF2 DOF in Videos

you can simulate static depth of field by rendering a depth overlay (r_depthoverlay 1) and using an appropriate effect that can use the depth data. however i've only ever used this in SFM and have no idea if that command works in game.

#7123 Frag Clips Thread in Videos
SpikyCactushttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzg40Tfln9E
I tried upscaling my vid from 720p to 1080p but the quality on YT still seems quite dodgy, would upscaling to 1440p fix this, and what bitrate should I use in that case?

Youtube bitrate at 1080p generally just sucks and looks quite bad most of the time so it's usually worth upscaling to 1440p. You can find what the maximum bitrate for different resolutions is here (its 24Mbps for 1440p although I usually use 26). Despite this you should try to record at 1080p at least because you can only upscale footage so much before it starts to look really bad (which you'd probably find it would going from 720 -> 1440).

Hope this helps.
