I'd rather see big movies coming out once a month or so over short clips produced all the time. There haven't really been any "big" releases in the past six months or so.

I forgot to mention that I'll be keeping this thread open for 24 hours, and take the best offer after that point.
Hi, it's been a long time since I've done any editing with actual frags, but I'm looking to do a soldier movie. Ideally featuring a duo with both single player frags as well as frags which highlight teamwork between the two soldiers (similar to Cla's "Brother From Another Mother" movie). I already have a song to use and hope to make the movie about five minutes in length (this amounts to about fifteen frags from each soldier). I made this thread just to see if any soldier duos would be interested.
A few things to note before contacting me:
- I work long hours over the summer so I can't guarantee it will be finished by a certain deadline, it might take 2-3 months depending on how much time I can dedicate. The biggest problem I have about doing movies for others is when they constantly ask me to hurry up or when the movie will be released.
- Demos must be working on the current version of tf2 and organized with proper names, I don't expect to sort through hundreds of demos myself in order to find where good highlights are.
- I prefer using SourceTV demos for smooths over the pov demo smoothing system. It's preferable that you have both a pov and stv demo to accompany as many of the clips as possible.
- I would prefer the movie to feature invite or intermediate-level players, but if you have good frags I'll consider open-level soldiers too.

Is the Liberty Launcher banned in comp play? If not it might be a decent alternative to the stock/original now. Probably still a downgrade, but the extra rocket speed definitely makes directs/airshots easier.
x3I do mountain bike since im 14. (Not downhill, but cross country)
It's pretty damn fun!
Il explore new areas from my new town this summer!
Where in Canada do you live?
XC bike racing, tennis, working out, and just browsing the web take up a majority of my time outside of school/work. I like editing too but not really on a cosistent basis, just whenever I have inspiration to create a new movie.
I think a lot of people hate on these sorts of videos because they read all of the youtube comments and think it's the right thing to do. Yeah the CGI was pretty bad, but it's still always nice to see people actually make something they're interested in and be able to share it online. If you've ever looked back at some of the "famous" editors (FreddieW, CorridorDigital, etc.) much of their early work looked similar to what you posted.
kirbyLike I said, don't ctrl + drag the clips. That will make it look like shit.
There's nothing wrong with using this method, it allows you do slow down audio too which the velocity bar will not allow. The only limitation is the whole clip must be at one constant speed but I'm not sure why you're saying not to use this.
Frags were very fast paced whereas the song seems better suited to slow footage so they didn't really go together too well. The clips were pretty cool though.
One way to build up a good reputation is to contribute in some sort of way to the community, either through streaming, writing articles, making videos, programming mods, etc. As others have said pugging is also a good way to meet people, even just going into public mumble channels to talk will help.
I've always considered the process to be either pub>highlander or pub>sixes. It doesn't seem to me that a lot of people use highlander as a transition, a lot of players who start highlander are happy to just continue on with it and never consider sixes to be another step upwards. Because of that I think to expand the sixes scene the focus should be put more towards existing pub players than those who are in highlander. My perspective might be different than most though because I started playing sixes with only about 30 hours of tf2 lol.
The fade to black between clips was good for the intro, it got a bit repetitive/slow beyond that though. I didn't really understand why some clips were in there such as the empty smooth on gullywash. Colours seemed inconsistent and the black highlights were too strong on some maps. Overall it was decent though, seems you have most of the recording basics down, try to focus on the pacing/flow of the movie next time.
freshmeatWell what's keeping ye from making a mod that allows cross-class weapon usage for freestyle means? Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. More potential.
Cranck was working on such a mod a long time ago, it was never fully completed but it allowed for demos/soldiers to use each others' stock weapons, I'm not really sure what happened to it.
This is pretty cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_557152&feature=iv&src_vid=X8yqwvYo5PA&v=QkKgnU-rzfY
