Also, the premature LAN-er option isn't too specific about what time you actually get in if you purchase it. The LAN will open at noon, but if you buy premature LAN-er, you get in at midnight of Friday.

I flew alone to GXL last year from Illinois. I was a little nervous at first but once I got up in the air everything was fine. You should definitely go if you can. I'm gonna try to book my flight here soon. My flight last year was like ~350-400$? I forget exactly how much. I also bought my plane ticket like a week or two before the LAN.

WithADanceNumberThreads like this make me really sad about living in the middle of no where, Canada.
700$ flight, and then I'd have to deal with getting my pc there in one piece.
Just wouldn't be financially sound for me :/ Otherwise i'd love to go, have fun everyone!
Wait till Tuesday or Wednesday and look at flight prices. Also there are a few people who have extra PCs so you could just hit them up.
