I am going to take some footage for extv projects, and lots of pictures/updates for everyone. If anyone wants to do a room share, that would be great!

drshdwpuppetwilling to drive carpool. Starting at Indianapolis, IN and surrounding area (up to Purdue, down to maybe Bloomington) and anywhere along this route. https://goo.gl/maps/sGU3X
Super-thrasheryoung, 14Super-the thing im worried about going is my age and im gonna feel so awkward around everyone else. oh well, atleast its going to be a great lan
Old or young?
I'm 32 and I still play and LAN. Age is just a number, fuck it. Go have fun.
so long as you are a chill and sociable, I dont see why it would be any problem at all, age is pretty meaningless among gamers, we are all there for a common interest, to have a great time, see some people from the community, play some games.
If some people are being dicks, or giving you the cold shoulder, hang with other people.

Waldoshowstopperbut i'm 15WaldoCan one of you LAN vets explain how hotels usually work out? I'm guessing most people don't sleep at the venue.

I am almost positive that not everyone who was consuming alcoholic beverages at FITES was 21.
AJdrshdwpuppetI'm at Purdue, and I'm thinking about alternatives to flying. I could possibly carpool with you. I'm just unable to drive myself. >>TurinIs there anyone carpooling that is driving through Columbus, OH? An 8 hour drive is killer alone.
If I drive, it will be through Columbus OH from Indianapolis and carpooling would be much appreciated. Still not sure if that is what I am doing or if flight is the better option.
If it would mean getting more people there, I will probably drive in from Indianapolis with room for four (including me). Cost of driving was a concern but with gas split up that won't be a problem.

I literally picked http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GDDR5-2GB-WINDFORCE-GV-N760OC-2GD-REV2-0/dp/B00DGM8B6O/ up today, so far I love it, got it OC'ed and it is holding steady. The fucker is over a foot long though, baaaarely fit in the case. Something to keep in mind.
honestly, your best bet is to pick yourself a language and write a game without the use of a toolset or studio like gamemaker or RPG maker. You will learn SO much more that way about how games, computer languages and large scale projects work. I like python for things like this, and there are plenty of libraries to help you get started, but any modern language will work really.
Those photos are half resolution, if anyone wants the full version of specific photos, let me know, but be aware they don't necessarily look any better because the low light made me shoot at a really high iso so there is hella artifacting.
Anyone is free to use these pictures for any use so long as I am credited.
duderDude my memory is a little fuzzy, but I can't wait to see shdw's pictures. I'm going to look so fucking blasted.
I have gone through them and made the relevant edits, they are ready to upload but I am sitting at a McDonalds on duty and dont feel like uploading 134 images on this shit wifi. Later tonight!
dashnerThanks guys for your kind words about the cast. There were some hiccups but I think we proved that on-site coverage for a TF2 LAN can look professional and still be practical + efficient. As Jeff said, I'll put up a more general feedback thread at some point to discuss what we could do better and what people would like to see in our casts going forward.
I think you are being too modest, I just went through and watched a lot of the cast and it really does represent some of the most efficient, professional, effective casting and production TF2 has seen to date. It completely blows anything tf.tv has done out of the water in terms of production value.
Tons of fun guys, it was great meeting all the people I have played with/against and seen around the community all these years. Super big shoutout to my man Dashner who not only brought us megawac, but also was working on the cast production for almost the entire LAN, completely forgoing his own fun. His production value on the cast was nothing short of phenomenal.
I took a fuckload of pictures and I will post them either tomorrow or Tuesday, at least the ones that came out well (it was really fucking dark in the venue 99% of the time).
