I dont know about whatever drama or whatever he did, but I met him at ESEA LAN and he seemed pretty chill. Cant vouch for his skill.
TheFragileKBlairTheFragileYes, this is all true, but you can't come in at 9 AM (or at all) unless you have SOME kind of pass. If you have literally no kind of pass, you can't come in.Do we need to print these passes or the confirmation e-mail out? I'm looking around the GXL site and I can't find where to print a pass.
LEMME LOOK IN THE FAQ IN THE FIRST POST.
QUESTIONS
A very common question that I’m asked is if you need to bring anything with you to registration. You can bring the confirmation email but it’s not really necessary. It might speed things up a little but I wouldn’t worry about it.
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDddddddddd
I think that we all owe TheFragile a drink. He has worked tirelessly on this lan for months.
So excited for the event! Nonis, Jay and I are all driving in tomorrow and it will be a blast.
Has a team and hasn't been cut.
and for the last time, our team is Explosions In The Sky. not some explosions in sky, not explosions in sky. x.x <3<3<3<3
This is a great event that has been going on forever. It is a really small lan, and the organizers are happy to keep it that way, but it is a lot of fun if you don't want the super competitive aspect and are just looking to hang with area gamers.
I met dennisthemenace and nonis there one year, they are pretty fun dudes.
I have room for one more in my car, coming from Indianapolis straight to the LAN along the i70 corridor. If you are along this route hit me up please! We will be leaving Indy at about 7am, so figure out timing if you like.
I use linux in my day to day stuff, I just wish that ESEA and/or CEVO would make their clients cross compatible, all my other games work flawlessly. I wonder if it is possible to have esea client sit in wine and still have it hook into the tf2 stuff it needs to be in...
we also still need the Pure vs eXtine battle of the chefs.
"what do I do what do I do guys"
why the fuck you asking the stream, you have a phone, call a fucking ambulance or someone to take you to an ER.
jesus people these days.
I have worked with/alongside Airon several times and I can vouch that he is the real deal. His real life job is working with audio every day, so he brings professional quality and standards to every project he works on and is more than happy to help anyone else learn the basics at any time. I have no doubt that his involvement with GXL will bring higher audio production quality and his expertise in professional media production will also help in every other aspect of the broadcast as well. Basically, he is one of, if not the most, professional and experienced media professionals currently involved in the TF2 community and his attendance will be a great benefit to the broadcast and the community as a whole.
Look forward to seeing you again bud.
alfaOnd_kajacan't you bring your own monitors in the hand luggage?
lol
You laugh, but most of the players at i46 did that...
manaI don't know, flame, I'm excited to play against the top 4. There's no other way my open team right now would have any other chance to even try our best against them. It's not like they'll scrim us.
I want to get at least one frag on enigma.
This.
I remember going to i46 and playing with some european friends of mine, we had a blast, and when it came time to play whatever team b4nny was on, I remember how fucking EXCITED my demoman was because just once, he killed b4nny at mid. It meant nothing to the pro teams, just another team to roll over to get to the real games, but those moments mean the world to anybody who has their head on straight about the game.
And any teams that are going that might be mid to high IM level? This is their opportunity to see what it would be like to play in invite, plus have a great time with the largest gathering of tf2 nerds in NA history. This whole idea of no one wanting to play because the top four teams in north america, plus a great euro team and who knows who else is going to show up is so stupid I cant even begin to understand it. The point was never that anyone could win this, its that we are all winners by putting together such a huge tournament and going to have a weekend of awesome tf2 with what is easily the best gaming community in the world.
I swear to god dashner if you dont come to GXL I will drive to your house myself and DRAG you to Pittsburgh
Dash has worked so endlessly and tirelessly for this community for years in various forms, he may not be in the limelight like Lange or Enigma or eXtine, but he has worked just as hard as them, always in the background, doing more than his fair share to improve TF2 casting. To listen to him talk about casting, production, his constant scheming and toiling away at small improvements and huge paradigm shifts in how we broadcast, consume and enjoy our little esport, is nothing short of breathtaking. If anyone deserves a little bit of help towards his costs, it is most certainly Dashner.
Alex buddy, thanks for everything. It doesn't get said often enough by the community, but rest assured we appreciate every second and every penny you put into us.
duderHave fun, everybody! Can't make it up today, hopefully I can meet up w/ all you crazies some other time.
later dawg :'(
