on top of that the oligarchy in place tries incredibly hard to sustain itself
google is basically the only tech company interested in being an ISP that can afford to lay new wire and has a genuine interest in providing service

DaggerOR you can use team based co-ordination to kill priority targets instead of complaining that one class is better than another
that only applies if there are class limits
(arbitrary) class limits are part of the reason valve feels the game is difficult to approach and not worth encouraging on a competitive level
as it is, 2 high level demos is a better use of players than 2 high level soldiers, or scouts, or anything really

u shouldnt bring class preference into a balance discussion ever because by that logic spy and sniper are OP as fuck because most pubbies love sniper and spy and play them a ton
like that logic only works if u play highlander where the actual effectiveness of classes has no bearing on whether the class is used
demo is the only class that can stop an engi stack or heavy stack by himself
he can also reasonably take out all the other classes solo
if you're better than everyone else, there isn't a reason to play anything but demo if you want to win
because demo has the highest potential frag and damage output of any class if you're good enough at it
this is his core problem
if you're trying to win, demo is going to give you the most mileage unless you're playing against high level scouts
until engi and heavy are incapable of stopping pubs from moving, demo's nature cannot be changed without breaking the game, but to pretend he isn't the most powerful class in high player count games is just dumb

why would you play soldier in 12v12 if you could just be demo instead
keep in mind the players are bad so you can consistently hit pipes
queen isn't overpowered because every player is both a queen and pawn
it's like calling the bottle UP
it's not like in CS where there is a risk of running a certain class if one class is objectively better than all others either since you can keep running that class indefinately even if you're being out DMd and losing every round
getting carried is a function of skill difference, not class, and even then demo scales the most with a high skill differential since he has 12 rockets and his only downside is they're hard to aim if the skill level is even
if you want to make the game balanced for HL/Pubs, without ruining 6s, you'd need to make it so there's no free wins (there aren't any in 6s) by nerfing defensive heavy and engi stacks, and nerfing the ability of individual demomen to win with basically no contest from lower skill players because demo is so powerful if he hits shots
why should demos be good at 1v1s?
using stickies at point blank is hard, but it doesn't justify making them basically a second RL when you've mastered them. Especially since almost every problem with demo has to do with the fact he doesn't really need a team to win the game on offense or defense if he's good enough. nerf engi/heavy then make demo have even shittier close range abilities than now and pubbies wouldn't complain about him because they'd actually be able to kill demo pub stompers without being on their skill level, even when they're in the range where demo is weak
