STOGEThe console uses a custom font right? If so is there an easy way to make it the default? Custom fonts often mess up ETF2L status screenshots (detecting players etc) and I just want to be safe.

made a new style: cozy! for you folks that want numbers nearer to the edge of the screen

also moved the compact hud into its own seperate folder, rather than using minmode(im gonna use minmode for something else soon ;) )

fixed it, you dont have to do the refract mask stuff anymore! i just realized the tournament ready up panel is completely broken, lemme fix that too........
edit: tourney ready up panel isnt a mess anymore

also expect another update very soon to fix some competitive mode stuff, thats lower on my priorities since its 1. in beta 2. a major ass pain

STOGEIs the tournament spectator stuff meant to be almost purely white? Think it could use a touch up if so, regardless still love this hud

ah, that happens because ive been using refract masking to disable the backgrounds of the tournament ui panels. to fix it, put

// Prism Settings (for refract)
mat_motion_blur_enabled 1 			//afaik the only sure-fire way to keep refract masking on
mat_motion_blur_strength 0 			//effectively disables motion blur, personal choice + motion blur gets masked and looks bad with refract masking

in your autoexec(credit to this thread)

doesnt work on dx8 though, so if i can figure out a way to remove these backgrounds another way itd be better

XYZ-SpyGreat hud I like it alot minor problem I noticed though on 4:3 800x600 resolution marked for death covers up the 3-d model a fair bit

that actually happens on every resolution im pretty sure, i might honestly move the 3d model down to the corner because i cant really think of a better place for status icons, ill see what i can do about it

trapis there a fix to tha health n ammo numbers being cut in half at my resolution ... 720 x 480 ?

im busy at the moment, but ill try and fix this as soon as possible. im pretty sure i know the cause, so expect a fix today or tomorrow

mdvthe lack of background / outline at the numbers disturbs me, but the menu is really simple and cool. im also glad you took the time to customise the sourcesheme.

thx! there's actually a very subtle shadow on most of the elements of the hud, so numbers stay visible in most situations.. but if you want the shadows to be more(or less) visible, you can edit the color juliaShadow in clientScheme.res

julia's hud is a custom heads-up display for team fortress 2, with the intent to be as simple & unstylised as possible while still providing adequate information to the user.
the font noto sans is used for its unicode support as well as just plain looking nice.
also the menus look all metro because i think the zune hd was pretty cool

if you see anything missing or broken, please let me know!

customization:
there are three versions of julia's hud: default, compact, and cozy. these differ only in how close some elements are to the crosshair -- see the screenshots section for how they each look in-game

transparent viewmodels, courtesy of this thread, are supported in julia's hud. follow the directions in that thread to enable them!

fog's crosshairs are in this hud, edit /scripts/hudlayout.res/ to enable them(instructions in file)

if you wish to edit the hud's colors, resource/clientscheme.res is the file to edit, it's pretty self-explanatory as all colors are defined in the beginning of the file and commented as to what they are.

this hud uses a custom console font, which may cause issues with ETF2L status screenshots. if you wish to use the default console font, drop /optional files/sourcescheme.res into your /resource/ folder, replacing the original.
todo:

  • mvm hud
  • captions support
  • finish/revamp all menus
  • competitive hud has some missing stuff
  • same goes for tournament hud
  • contracts aren't edited but as theres no campaign currently i can't really fix that
  • pd, rd, pass time objectives
  • custom crosshair support
  • installer/updater for the lazy folk
  • notifications look really bad

cl_hud_minmode 1 for a little bit of extra breathing room on the hud elements? i personally like having hud tunnelvision but this is a bit more akin to huds like broesel :)
i also turned down the transparency on the drop shadows, so still good for visibility but dont ruin the asthetics as much

collyif the buttons and icons are fonts, i would def add anti aliasing to them
ingame things are a little too close together
the blur shadows don't rly fit in with the metro ui theme u have
player lists and stuff could be a lil more centered so it'd be easier to see and so it wouldn't clip with the killfeed

nah the icons arent fonts because then they wouldnt be able to be changed on hover; if anyone had tips on how to make source scale down images better id love to hear
the blur shadows look real nice though :( theyre easily disableable, if someone really wants to play tf2 lookin like a zune HD
i think ill make a minmode toggle for the scoreboard, i really like it out of the way in the scoreboard but i agree that it clipping with the killfeed is dumb(as it is right now, the killfeed is hidden while the scoreboard is open so it doesnt look too awful)
