TwiggyLooks good, but too realistic for me:(
I was used to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and there is no game like it currently :(
I don't know, I mean it'll be realistic but it won't be one of those strategy/realism WWII games it appears. To me it seems more of a CoD 2 kind of game. They said in youtube comments they are designing competitive modes for 4v4/5v5/6v6.
EDIT: ninja'd by deetr on the youtube comment thing
Definitely donate to the kickstarter if you can. I dropped the ~$70/$80 to get into closed alpha and beta, steam early access, etc. It's already getting massive support, but I really want to make sure it reaches the goal they have set by the beginning of March.
BazingaBarry82This looks suprisingly promising
Thanks for posting this gecks
namassinthe fact that they are taking the time to do so much research about the history of ww2 is awesome. The graphics also look like they will be incredible.
It does look super promising. Basically seems like it'll be a really good modern remake of CoD 2. Gotta love the fact they have competitive gameplay in mind while developing it too.
There's a new WW2 shooter in the works called Battalion 1944. Apparently has former AAA developers and former esports professionals on the team. In the video below they explain they are really trying to capture the essence of older skill based shooters like CoD 2, Day of Defeat, and bring them to modern game development. Along with that there will be no unbalanced unlocks or any of the things that piss me (and many others) off about modern shooters.
Their Twitter bio: "Battalion 1944 is the competitive multiplayer shooter that will propel World War 2 into the next generation on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam."
I freakin' love WW2 shooters man, so excited for this. Seems like the developers have the right ideas to make a quality game.

RunawayGecks and Marxist back together again makes me reminiscent of one of the first comp tf2 casts that I ever watched. It was a Mad Men vs eLevate and holy balls was that game hype. Good to see an incredible casting duo back together again.
That was one of my favorite casts I've ever done :) Really exciting game.
runescape was my first online game, and I have more playing time across various accounts than I'd like to admit.
never forget
I have pretty small hands but quite enjoy the EC1-A. Just really like the way it sits in my hand. Both are great though, just down to what you prefer.

holy shit the nostalgia
kevi watched that CGS shit when it was on directTV when i had that service
was actually pretty cool watching competitive DoA and i think source was being played too
It had CS:S, DoA, FIFA and some racing games I believe.
MrFahr3nheitI know they don't have to necessarily televise things like Dota 2 or League of Legends, but can esports be successfully televised? They streamed some sort of MMO on like ESPN13211 or something and I don't remember it being well received.
It hasn't been done all that much in the US. Back in the midish 2000s DirectTV hosted the CGS which only lasted a couple of seasons. Granted, esports was no where near as large back then, and economic troubles in the US and around the world around this time didn't help either, and they had to shut it down.
ESPN hosted Heroes of the Dorm on ESPN2 last year (College Heroes of the Storm tournament). Ratings for it weren't really all that good (apparently a 0.1 on the Nielsen ratings), but this was really one of the first televised esports events in the US. ESPN was apparently happy with it according to an article I read.
TBS will be hosting the ELeague coming up this summer, which will be a better tell of how televised esports will work out in the US I think. Being that it's CSGO, it would probably work out a little better just because of the fact that your average person flipping through channels would be able to watch it and quickly understand the general idea of the game; shoot people, try to attack/defend the bomb site. Whereas a MOBA would be much tougher to understand for someone that has never seen it before I think. At least that's my take on it, but I also don't play or really like MOBAs all that much.
