#37 RGL is actually a thing... in TF2 General Discussion

i really like the third person camera angles. it'd be cool to see more of that on tf.tv streams instead of solely first person POV. that is one of my favorite parts about watching Shade cast matches, it's so much more fluent and clear as to what is happening, and it probably makes casters lives a million times easier; instead of calling every little detail as it happens, you can simplify things and it ends up being less chaotic.

the gamemode itself looks pretty mindless, and I doubt anyone is taking it seriously, but it's somewhat OK to watch I guess?

#51 How to make PugChamp better in TF2 General Discussion

i wanna say that mix champ helped me improve an insane amount at the game, and improving it would be really cool to see. honestly, I don't really see your complaints with pug champ that much: the time wait has never bothered me, and i'd like to see stats where you're saying players who know they won't be picked go to other websites. honestly, before i started playing mix champ, i just practiced my dm, jumping, and watched some Marxist videos for about a month, then started playing, and I did really well. imo, if players put a little bit of time and effort into practicing they would be so much better, the barrier of entry isn't that large, the only problem is that mixes rarely happen.

#21 Valve's comp Format? in TF2 General Discussion
mathemaphysicistHow wold you guys react if valve thinks 7v7>6v6 and it becomes their priority

considering that there are currently a total of five teams signed up on rgl.gg and the gamemode involves banning weapons and restricts class limits, there is probably a 0% chance of them doing that. if they did, the competitive community would literally lose all hope in valve and the game would probably die. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for them to take the prolander set up out of that, though.

#14 hayes lft mid open in Recruitment (looking for team)

yeah just to clarify, i didnt want to make a new lft thread because i didnt want to spam, so please ignore the title of my post (if somebody could change it to just "lft hayes" or something that would be very ideal). im not trying to sandbag or whatever by saying I want to play open, but I have tried out for paradox's team and played a pugscrim with dagger and didn't perform very well, I'd love to play IM next season but I don't really feel ready for it imo, especially from somebody with literally no starting experience. thats why when i made this post i thought my skill level was ~ mid to high open, but i feel confident now to play high open.

overall though, would just love a tryout.

#8 Bad Habits from SOAP-DM and/or MGE? in TF2 General Discussion

a lot of bad habits from DM revolves around chasing frags and being too aggressive. as soldier, I have a really bad habit of jumping off of high-ground when I play, because when I play DM, I'm usually chasing frags. you can do this with other classes as well, so really pay attention to positioning and all of that when playing actual games. you also essentially have unlimited ammo, I always try to remind myself before I play to pick up every ammo pack ever.

other than that, just challenge yourself. Don't constantly jump everything as soldier, don't just play around a health pack, don't lay sticky traps, etc. I usually enjoy going shotgun only, playing really passive, playing really aggressive, give myself shit positioning and so on when I play DM. MGE is a lot more about aim imo, just focus more on hitting shots rather than getting to 20.

#191 sigafoo tf2 league in TF2 General Discussion

Honestly, rereading over your posts in the initial cup, I don't really understand? People seemed interested in the format, and the ideas that could come out of it. You answered questions professionally there, explained what and why things are happrning, etc. You even agreed with Saam himself when he said that the format could never become it own league, but that it would provoke new strategies and thought about the game. Most people seemed to respect the initiative you were taking.

Then, you ridicule yourself, passive aggressively tell tf.tv that you are a lolhl engie, and radically change the rules. Both tsar and blaze asked you legitimate questions professionally that you completely ignored. What happened there? I'm so confused.

I'm not sure how you took those copy and pastes as constructive compliments. Saam's is clearly not a compliment, and Dolly said later in his post that "7v7 is a fucking joke." Most of the other comments are jokes about the format, which is honestly to be expected, people want to be upfragged. Why not have a survey, or ask top players, or review the gamemode to see what the issues are? From reading your post and watching your video, I wonder if you actually did that?

#10 Any advice for me? in Q/A Help

Why don't you enjoy talking to other people? What makes you hate them? What about BM is annoying you? You shouod elaborate on this.

As far as under performing, when you see everything as shit, you're going to see your play in the same light, so I don't think it's the root of the issue. You also seem to have problems with people IRL. You don't have to quit completely, bjt maybe limit your playtime to just jumps and DM for awhile might be good for you.

#51 Stop being cancer to new players people in TF2 General Discussion

I've haven't been playing pugs for very long or interacted with too many teams, but every team I've talked to has been over the top nice to me. Playing mix champ gave me a decent understanding of the game, where I've only met one toxic person over the course of ~60 pugs. I only have around 50 pug champ games, but most people are nice and just want to play. I've seen very new players tell the team to help them out multiple times, and every single time the team gives him/her pointers on what to do. The only toxic people I see are incredibly toxic towards everyone else, but they aren't very many.

I know I'm not the newest player ever, but new players should just ask for advice, play mix champ, and practice DM and jumping before playing seriously. People understandably get frusturated; I know I've had super shit games where people express that, but it's completely understandable and acceptable. Anyone whp is super toxic, just mute them and report them if you want to.

#51 cp_drudgery - 5CP in Map Discussion

http://imgur.com/a/AL0CL - Some specific parts of the map in that post.

Overall, I remember mids feeling a bit vacant and open, but also very fast paced. I guess it's because I'm not used to the map, but playing above the point felt very strange as soldier, as did the entire mid. It's pretty simple and elegant, though, so I wouldn't change too much about it. Holding second seems extremely strong if the entire team is up, but I think with all the different entrances and limited exits, you could probably push into second with one pick. Pushing into mid seems like a nightmare though; you can hold and get good damage from valley without having to sacrifice too much. Most of the other team team can spam pretty hard and leave very quickly with the new spawn door. Valley itself seems to lead fair into mid already, maybe move it back a little? And everything about last feels weird to me. I seriously have no idea how it would play out.

That's all bad speculation though, I'd love to see this map actually be played seriously. Seems interesting and unique, with a neat concept behind it!
