eXtineI think a free division for CEVO would be great. Maybe make it a ladder format so team stability isn't an issue. Could even have "seasons" that run concurrent to the other leagues. Top team in the free ladder division gets paid entry into neXt season of pay division.
can't wait to see iT not pay for anything
it's just his banana cheats then heh
You are able to use any HUD.
Hitsounds can be placed in the sounds/ui directory. They must be named "hitsound.wav" and yes it has to be WAV.
I think some custom sounds are able to be used on sv_pure now, such as dominations/revenges.
MerchantfrknWhy would a free division in CEVO have a higher skill level then whatever the top UGC div is?
ESEA has historically had the higher skilled players. If they transitioned to CEVO then there would be a league with high skilled players that was also free, something that could appeal to UGC players.
Oh, so you mean the entire league should be free? In that case, I don't agree. There needs to be a league fee to build a prize pot that can attract people from ESEA. Well, the people that need to be anyway. Only other thing we really need at this point to get people to switch is a LAN, but we've discussed that too much already.
DunderBroSoooo... Y'all back to ESEA now?
I know I'm not, can't speak for everyone else though. Wouldn't be surprised though.
I guess this is directed at john
Honestly, I think the problem with ESEA is lpkane. Torbull seems like the kind of guy who would actually work with people to make the service better, while lpkane is... well, a troll and he was possibly directly involved with the bitcoin incident (he says it was only one person, but New Jersey says it was both lpkane and Jaguar). His story about the bitcoin incident changed a few times before the current one, also.
If Torbull bought lpkane's share of the company and lpkane no more had an relationship with ESEA, then I'd be willing to work things out with ESEA. Until then, I can't trust them.
XanSince there is a shift can we legitimize UGC as some sort of gateway to CEVO kind of thing. Like an official below the open thing.
Doesn't need to be official, it already happens with ESEA as the top. Nothing's going to change there, except maybe more people moving from UGC to CEVO.
MrPoT4tOOh I see. But how successful was that system in the old CEVO? Do they do that with the current games and divisions they have in those?
No league fees at the moment, but they are open to having them.
I believe it should go Open -> Amateur (-> Main if enough teams) -> Pro, whenever league fees are implemented. Of course, this could be adjusted as needed.
Roll out other divisions as needed, and save Invite for LAN.
Edited: removed free league stuff
IndimanI deleted all esea files in appdata/local/temp and there's no esea driver in the device manager, but I checked cmd and it says I still have the driver :S
Did you uninstall the client?
You missed the first step: UNINSTALL THE CLIENT PROGRAM ITSELF FIRST. IDK if that actually does anything, but it's better than the client reinstalling the driver when uninstalling it.
BurnDLseanbudliterally the only argument for ESEA at this point is LAN. And I don't think it's a very good argument anymore. We are brushing aside some really really shady shit from ESEA over and over. There is drama season after season involving the admins. The community sinks thousands to ship players to Dallas because there are no sponsors. We are playing a VERY steep price just to stay in ESEA because there is a LAN. But honestly, how many more times do we need to see plat's team vs. b4nny's team in the grand finals in Dallas?LAN is how we actually get new players into TF2.
The last http://blog.logmycalls.com/Portals/155740/images/6-call-tracking.jpg LAN's have resulted in a 1-2 finish grand final of Plat's team vs. b4nny's team. This season we had a potential competitor in watch this, and the team was killed before the season even started based on the league admin's decision. lpkane will state over and over how much he does not give a fuck about tf2, and the league admins who should care about tf2 are fucking up the invite division over and over with terrible judgement calls. The client causes us to reschedule far too many matches, and doesn't ever catch a hacker, and was apparently doing shit much shadier than any of us imagined until the bitcoin shit was exposed.
If you want a LAN that badly, we can always keep sending our squad(s) to i-series. I like the idea of a LAN final, but we need to fucking move on and maybe one day we can have a LAN that's actually worth going to.
The viewers won't notice the difference between ESEA LAN finals and CEVO online finals.
Also: by your logic, ETF2L doesn't exist, since EU TF2 doesn't have a LAN every season which means literally no one is playing.
StPatrickCevo has historically been a pay to play league, they're probably only free now to entice teams to play. Also having users pay for the league is not the only means of creating a good prize pot.
Yes, but the only other ways are sponsorships and donations. We've established that TF2 has few sponsors, and ETF2L's prizes aren't too great with sponsors and donations. I think ETF2L's sponsors just negate the cost of the league, while the donations are what the prizes come from.
WithADanceNumberI dropped my old deathadder on my bed and now it doesn't work ;_;
Dropping deathadders is never a good idea.
That's either a really defective mouse and you should have RMA'd it if possible, or you're lying.
