what are you using to enable lightboost?
Don't use nvidia 3D software, use toastyX's strobelight thingy.
Does the issue remain with lightboost disabled?
Lightboost can make stutter more apparent than without.
Q: Does LightBoost make stutters and tearing more visible at low framerates?
Yes, LightBoost motion can make stutters and tearing easier to see, especially at lower framerates. (Regular LCD motion blur actually helps to hide small stutters and tearing).
Using a higher frame rate will compensate for this. Getting LightBoost benefits requires a much higher frame rate than normal (e.g. 120fps @ 120Hz). You may need to adjust your game detail settings and/or upgrade to a more powerful graphics card (e.g. GeForce GTX 680, GTX 770, GTX 780 or Titan).
For solo gameplay where input lag is not critical, you may wish to try playing with VSYNC ON or Adaptive VSYNC. LightBoost particularly benefits motion clarity of motion during framerate=Hz.

Close out all other applications and do whatever in the world you can do to reduce your frametimes.
recording with a cpu intensive encoder (ie. high compression x264) raises frametimes (Note: FRAME TIMES) by 5~10ms. I'm normally getting 8~9ms, so another 5~10ms more and it's stutter hell. I'm assumning because clock cycles spent doing D3D stuff is shared with encoding i/o.
You should OC your CPU. Play Dx8.1 because it has very slightly lower frametimes than DX9, evident with results in the tf2 benchmark thread.
Try recording with motion-jpeg, frametimes will hardly increase and game is perfectly smooth.
*frametimes were measured using msi-afterburner.
somewhat down the article.
You're welcome.
x264vfw is outdated and isn't maintained like its cli variant.

or use handbrake.
Only the final recording should be in lossy x264.

-Set microphone record as the same button as mumble's push to talk. if you bound it to a mouse button, you need a seperate software. I use something called "push to talk solution for windows 7 and 8"
-choose encoder/frame rate/etc...
I have enough space and CPU/disk speed to use a lossless encoder (UT Video / Lagarith).
You can use x264vfw, but that's horribly out dated. Use OBS if you don't have disk space.
-Hide overlay on recording
-hotkey
-record
If you need to encode to h264 / x264, use obs but I'm not sure how it handles push to talk.
god damn it, saltybet has been stuck on the sayaka vs fake ass knuckles for like 20 minutes already...

~1500$ is more than enough for any high end PC including accessories.
