i haven't used many earbuds but i've had these for about a year now.
ViSang R03 are the exact same aswell, you might be able to find these cheaper
they're a little bit out of your price range, but you can wear them cable down and they provide great noise cancellation. my only complaint with them was that the cable is relatively small for computer use if the jack is on the back of your machine and you keep it kind of far away (i'm sure most earbuds have a similar problem compared to headphones), but I found a headphone jack extension lying around and it does the job, which is especially handy if you want to watch a movie while in bed or something of that sort.
if you're looking for more information, here's a resource you can use to read comprehensive reviews on different pairs sorted by price range.

this guy knows way more than me or probably anyone else here purely based on the sheer amount of earbuds he's tested out.

really enjoying the SSBM pools, i'm pretty new to watching it and it's nice that you can wiki people's names and find out a lot about their history really quickly/easily. makes you wonder if that will be possible one day for TF2.
very elegant write-up, thanks terry

I don't think there's a lucky number as far as how many maps to have, but it's obvious that just having one of a certain map type is a poor decision.
It's unrealistic that we'd find solid additions in both AD and KOTH game types, but what I'd really like to see is one more KOTH introduced somewhere in the pool (possibly in place of gpit) so we can see if teams would be more willing to familiarize themselves with the KOTH game mode, such that its considered standard to know how to play it.
You're right that problems will still exist if things stay the way they are now, where everyone pugs 5cp the majority of the time. This would obviously be bad for teams when they suddenly have to face a new game type mid season. However, if more of the other game modes are introduced (likely KOTH since most people hate gpit as it is), the community would be more likely to familiarize themselves with the game mode.
There wouldn't be a problem with people "swapping to a new map type" because the KOTH maps would be commonly played outside of matches in scrims, pugs, lobbies, etc. The problem with gravelpit is that nobody plays it outside of matches. I think most people can agree that they'd like to see more KOTH in the rotation, but the issue is there aren't any viable alternatives yet.
capnfapni think there would be less upsets and 2-0s on gpit if people actually pugged on it more. I bet there are a ton of people that go into ESEA having only played gpit in 6v6 a couple of times at most.
personally, i've never hated the map, but the main problem is that there is only one a/d map and one koth map. it's pointless to scrim or pug a map that is uncommon in the map pool and therefore benefits you less to practice.
for anyone who used to play back when turbine was around, we had the exact same problem. everybody hated the map because it was the only ctf in the map pool, causing nobody to want to pug/scrim it.
think of it this way.
with the current map pool:
pugging ANY cp map - allows you to practice mechanics featured in 75% of the map pool
pugging an ad or koth map - practice mechanics from one map in the map pool
in my opinion, the best solution I can think of is to add more koth and ad maps to the map pool. if this happened, people wouldn't be so opposed to playing them outside of ESEA week and it wouldn't be disruptive in the middle of a season. the only problem with this solution is that there just aren't any viable koth/ad maps that have been well tested to add in to the pool.
we need to focus on ways to test new maps with high level players and get good feedback from them

Gen_CavemanIt isn't that ESEA is under a time crunch like a MLG tournament over a weekend (Where having a hard bracket is more forgivable), there are months to make this round robin style schedule to be as fair as possible and I just don't see why they allow this random factor in.
There are obvious flaws with a merit system, considering that most teams change their rosters heavily between seasons. Making LAN with a "roster" doesn't mean anything, and trying to compare brand new teams together doesn't factor in how well they play on LAN or how rusty they are at the start of the season.
With these flaws in mind, there really isn't a good way to compare team X to Y, and having it done not randomly would require a ton of speculation that doesn't really hold any value.
For example, it wouldn't make any sense to give Mad Men a harder schedule compared to Mixup just because Mixup made LAN, since their roster is drastically different from their S13 lan roster.
the thing about playing on dallas/fr is that not only does the other team get 160+ ping, but the home team would get really incredible ping (below 50). the reason the games become such a roll are because of the ping difference.
on a server like new york, I personally get around 100, but the EU players would still get anywhere between 110-150. the pings will still be ridiculously high, but the ping difference is much smaller, actually creating competitive/interesting games.
