AGDQ is an incredible event. if you're new to the idea of speedrunning or you just don't see the point, I urge you to at least take a few minutes to watch some of the more popular games that you might have played (zelda, portal, super mario 64). it's for an amazing cause (prevent cancer foundation) and it's all around a ton of fun.

dashtmESEA's channel mainly has a CS following that probably won't be very interested in TF2. Also ESEA may not be interested in such a video series.
Also if you guys need help sorting clips or that kind of thing, I'm always here!
I was thinking the same thing, but I figure plenty of CS players want to try TF2 but have no idea where to start. I also have some friends that don't play any FPS games but still like to watch ESEA casts of lan finals.
HereThereBeTygersI think it'd be cool if there was a tab at the top next to forums, articles, streams, etc, that was "Videos" and maybe had sections for different types of footage (frag vids, casts, full match POVs, commentaries, etc).
this has already been suggested and it's something enigma will likely implement in the future, but it's only him coding the site so things like this will come down the road
kingdom hearts 1
kingdom hearts 2

use the search feature :D
cashThanks for these links, there's definitely some good stuff here.
I guess what I'm specifically looking for is actual STV footage that I can analyze with my team.
We are most definitely having trouble with everything you've mentioned.
Although comparing your team's play to high level play isn't always the best idea, here's a link to a package of all the STV demos of ESEA S12 Lan. http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/2565-esea-s12-lan-stv-package. You can take a look at how the teams are playing the maps and try to come up with some general ideas on how to approach each map.
Additionally, you can ask some ESEA-O/ESEA-IM teams to give you a demo of one of their scrims, then watch it and try to understand that.
Even though you may feel like you aren't capable of understanding your own play, try watching your own STV demos and ask yourself:
"Why did we lose that?"
"Why did my roamer die there?"
"How are they getting an advantage in this fight?"
Just re-watch certain fights over and over until you feel like you understand what's happening.
If you haven't already, I recommend checking out Seanbud's Map of the Week video reviews, which you can find on his youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSeanbud. It should give you a general idea on how to play process and viaduct on every class.
Other than that, could you be more specific? Are you having trouble with midfights, holding chokes, trying to not die in pushes/stalemates? etc.
Most brands that say "silent" just refer to using some of the quieter, less clicky switches (reds, blacks, some browns). In reality, most mechanical keyboards are pretty loud by nature, so unless you're getting o-rings underneath your keys to reduce the key-impact it'll be pretty loud.
I'm sure one of the keyboard experts here like smaka could recommend one of the softer ones, but don't fall into the trap that any mechanical keyboard will be quiet.
Also, pretty decent video here detailing the differences between all the switches and what to look for in a keyboard if you're unsure.
lange has it all figured out <3
the recent update broke the command mat_filtertextures. setting it to 0 will give you unfiltered textures, which makes your crosshair look bulkier. since it's broken, it's forced to 1 for some textures, giving you your thin crosshair.
the only real fix i can imagine is to use a hud crosshair to emulate the old crosshair you had, but it probably won't be the same until valve fixes it.

MemphisVonThe real question is why should you use the ESEA pug system? What does it offer that the other options dont.
Also, if I want to pug with a friend who doesn't have premium I can't.
using esea pugs bring more players and more money to the game. period. if we want bigger prize pools and a larger community, we have to bring people to ESEA. the majority of the money that comes to the league is from premium fees, and a majority of the premium users that play CS don't actually play in the leagues.
one thing about pug.na is that you can choose from more than 12 players. in esea pugs, if someone joined that had never played TF2 before, the teams would be imbalanced and the new player wouldn't have any fun. in pug.na, there's generally a few left-over players, ensuring that the pug is usually pretty balanced.
also, if you crash unexpectedly in pug.na, you can still rejoin and be fine. in esea, you get a temp ban and you can't rejoin for x amount of time.
few other things that should be implemented:
- mumble "hub" for esea, similar to the pug.na mumble that everyone uses. nobody wants to use in game voice chat.
- dm mod
- more control given to trusted players, that way people who are being really obnoxious or intentionally ruining the pug can be dealt with
