you dont have to do anything to the vtf files just leave them in the materials folder
basically the materials folder stores the vtf and vmt files and scripts folder is where you select the one you want

You don't have to change anything just drag the custom_stuff folder and put it in your custom folder like the download says
or are you vaguely talking about something else?
When i make crosshairs i used ones that were already made as a template by opening the vtf in vtfedit and exporting as png then editing that png in GIMP or photoshop
chances are that the reason it is blurry is your VTFedit settings, these are the ones i use: http://imgur.com/a/vYNWG
I also have a VTF crosshair pack you can use that includes this crosshair
have you changed anything after downloading?
if so screenshot the weapon file you have changed and show it here
should look like this http://imgur.com/a/GcMvB
dxlevel shouldnt change anything
have you transferred from HUD crosshairs and forgot to turn the crosshair on with "crosshair 1"
SinetiI play on a low resolution so when i make the crosshairs smaller into the size i want to them to be, they pixelate. Any way I could deal with that?
Sorry i have no idea, can you try all the crosshairs and tell me which ones pixelate? it might have something to do with the file sizes when i made them
also how small are you making them with cl_crosshair_scale

added a video demonstration and updated tutorial
Phoenix21STEEZok i downloaded the files, i have the files in my custom folder, and I typed in console the cl_crosshair_file (xhair name), but i just gives me the checker pattern :(. It then inputs this: --- Missing Vgui material vgui/crosshairs/seeker.follow the guide, it says cl_crosshair_file "" doesn't matter which crosshair, it changes the default one into the one you edited in the tf_weapon text.
I added him and that was the problem, it is fixed now
Which crosshair were you trying?
ive checked the download and aslong as you didnt change anything they all work
minmode seems to be broken in demos
looks like this, ammo in the wrong position
EDIT: nvm its because i had minimal hud selected in lawena
