#5 Rastsy Scout Looking in Recruitment (looking for team)

I've known Rastsy for a while and we've played on a team a couple times (both for a season and at the last LANFest), and you should definitely try him out. He has good aim and comms and will to improve and to work with the team. I really like just hanging out with him as he has a huge amount of experience in other competitive games as well and it's always fun to chat with him. Looking forwards to hanging out with you later this week.

And as sky_ said he paid for half of our team on CEVO. He cares about this game and improving the scene overall.

#92 Why that class? in TF2 General Discussion

I started as a pocket main because it was an open spot. I wasn't very good but I enjoyed being the meatshield to the medic and helping my team by doing damage. Not too long ago (2 seasons past?) I figured out that I'm much better at supporting my team as a roamer instead because I can then focus on timing and out game sensing my opponent to get that one crucial pick that let's us push. I also chose roamer because rockets better suit how I aim (or how I don't aim). On top of that, I feel like roamer has an incredibly high skill ceiling that we haven't really seen much achieved yet. I want to be at the top of that.

#34 Ways To Warm Up Before a Match and Scrim in TF2 General Discussion
305formycityx3E-sports is like sport in general.

U need to eat well, sleep well, and practice. Practice, practice, practice. (lol)

Before a match i would usually go out 5 mins, to get my eyes off the screen for a little bit.

I would alternate between MGE, DM and PUG before your scrims.

Cheers.
Eat well lol??? Last I checked quite a few of the top invite players are overweight, eat junk on LAN, and I'm pretty sure Chuan if you follow dota doesn't eat healthy. All the top players in this community play this game way too much thats what makes them good. They're not follow Kai Greene's nutrition plans.

You have literally no idea of what you're talking about.

#66 Why do you still play tf2? in TF2 General Discussion
ToasterSeeing improvement as a player. I don't know why everyone is saying the community is so great, sure we funded for things like 152 and tip of the hats, but the people in this community are usually not forgiving.

Do you remember the times I unbanned you? Twice?

I think that's pretty forgiving.

#29 Why do you still play tf2? in TF2 General Discussion

It's a combination of a couple things for me.

- Teammates and hanging out with them
- Skill ceiling individually + as a team
- I personally think the design of 6v6 is very elegant and good, and I continue playing so I can fully comprehend the whole thing. I keep learning how this game works, every scrim, every review, every match. I like having that knowledge.
- I want to frag enigma one day
- This community is small; if I manage to do work for it, it has a huge impact. That is pretty cool.
- Casts are amazing. It's a very watchable game.
- Meeting people in this community in real life has been incredibly fun and rewarding. If you ever see eXtv's interview with Tyrone at i46 he talks about how mackey and he are pretty different people but also both play TF2.
- 6v6 itself is really fun to play. There's really nothing quite like it, and the fact that athe community is the one to have formed it and refined it is practically unheard of.

There's more stuff, maybe, but I haven't found it to be a waste of time at all.

I also updated the first post with more relevant CEVO+ESEA links so it's easier to see matches/standings/etc.

The matchups for CEVO are up: http://cevo.com/event/tf2-6v6/matches/198/263/

Anyone wanna note some good games? Maybe get some impromptu casts going? I'll be streaming my POV for every scrim and match (+delay) I play (most likely), anyone else? I might make the first post a list of streams from anyone playing in Open of both leagues.

#42 PSA: Stay safe at night in Off Topic

Good advice, I was actually going to bump this because I'm heading to the police station to try and identify the muggers. They also told me that if I get my serial number for my 3DS they'll actually keep track in a database if it ever shows up.

#32 PSA: Stay safe at night in Off Topic

Thanks guys.

I ordered a refurb 3DS XL, haha (glad I don't need my mom to buy a 3DS for me HUH POT?). Time for round 2 of playing the shit out of that thing. I actually followed that, yankee, and exactly what it says happened; they'll restore your downloaded games; I didn't have my serial number but because I registered it on Club Nintendo (you also need your Nintendo Network ID, so save the serial number, Club Nintendo login info and Nintendo Network ID to be perfectly safe) they were able to unlink it, and they told me to call back with the report number they gave me to restore downloads. Unfortunately I don't think they can do much about cartridges (even though I had like 5 registered), but when I call again to restore games I'll ask about it. I may go eShop only because of this, exception of games that aren't there.

And to recap, it has more to do with the area and not the campus itself. I've been around campus at night for 5 years straight, but I'd never run into trouble (I've even lived in trouble areas close to campus), and I also read the police bulletins regularly (also another thing to check, they'll have description of the crime, profiles of the perpetrators as well as where it happened), and there had never been one on campus, or even immediately near (technically speaking I was on campus the whole time except walking along one street to get on the train).

I appreciate the concern, guys.

yankeeHave you filed a police report? Also, I dunno how applicable this is to your situation but:

http://www.reddit.com/r/3DS/comments/1d9e6n/if_you_ever_get_your_3ds_stolen_heres_what_to_do/

I forgot about that, I'll actually try that to see how that goes.

RadmanWhich college was this?

It doesn't matter, it's less to do with the college and more has to do with the area. Like I said, I've been walking around that area at night for 5+ years without any trouble at all.

AloSecglad you're ok man.

dunno if your college has this, but in most of the colleges I've visited, you can use the call buttons to request a friend to walk with you, I've always thought that was neat

Yeah, it has this service (specifically designed to stop situations like this).

xoxolauren

This is all really good advice.

MasterKuniIf you're in an emergency situation near groups of people and need someone to call the cops, don't say "Someone call the cops!", because I guarantee almost no one will. Instead, single a person out, and say "Hey you, call the cops!" and they will be much more inclined to help you. I don't remember where I read this, but it seems like sound advice for breaking the crowd mentality of nobody wanting to take responsibility.

This too, it's like the specificity makes it more urgent and less likely for the person to just say "I'll let someone else do it".

#1 PSA: Stay safe at night in Off Topic

I had the misfortune of getting mugged, and although they inconvenienced me heavily (they got my 3DS and my library of games), I'm okay (one bruise at most).

Please stay safe if you're walking at night. I was coming back from a concert walking through campus (a college campus generally known to be safe, and I thought so, too, after walking around at night for 5 years straight), while I got hit by a group of people (won't go into detail about them). I was dumb by listening to music and looking at my cellphone while it happened. Luckily, they didn't resort to weapons, and they ran off after they jacked my bag (they were originally targeting my cell phone but I fought a bit).

I want to make clear, this was NOT the right approach to responding to a mugging. I could have very easily been murdered if I was being attacked by a more unstable group of people. The right thing to do is to give them what they ask for and get out scot free otherwise, and then, of course, report to the police immediately (luckily the campus has many emergency response booths around, so it was literally less than a minute that a police officer came to take down notes). Other ways I could've prevented it (though in my situation, unlikely): not listening to music and being able to notice them faster, or walking back with a friend. I also made the mistake of cussing at them instead of yelling to call the cops or that I was getting mugged. Doing this is very situational (read up on the bystander effect), but on the campus I was on, it would've been advantageous to me.

Just to make it clear, they hit me in between crowds of people walking nearby (literally 150 feet away, and actually really close to campus buildings WITH LIGHTS ON INSIDE), and surrounded me. Muggers use a surprise advantage (check your flanks, seriously, or make sure you can notice them) to force you into submission.

Stay safe.

#60 ESEA-O S17, CEVO-O S5 Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah, this was only a really quick write up and I haven't gone through many stats yet, so I'm probably wrong/inconsistent about stuff.

radiumWho do you have up there, mana? I haven't been in the loop as of late.koreaWhich teams are going to be top open?

I haven't gone stats crazy yet (only for a couple teams) but this is my list so far (not in any order) for TOP OPEN:
- maus trap - Most people on the team have had at least IM experience. And then there's mausy, probably the best Demo in open. Plat, put up a bounty for this team, please.
- Ducks Per Interface - My old team. Urban's "back" on pocket and they picked up fredwardo on demo.
- Off Top - Shocka is another demo who could contend for best in open, in my opinion. Rest of the team is pretty solid too.
- sparkle bunnies - All these guys have had IM experience (Main, even, when that was around), and chad "motherfucking" hero1 has had LAN experience. Beastly team.
- airs team without rainy - Solid team all around, and a combo with air and scrimshaw is going to be very good and also be aggressive.

I think these are the bubble teams that are close to the level of the teams I just noted:
- SPACELOBSTERS - I think it's a more casual team but they definitely have the players to be able to match up with top open.
- anime is just cartoons - My own team, but I think this is our appropriate spot.
- Graveguns Anerysm - Hippo is a really strong demo. And they have phelon from the old days.
- Hungry Hungry Ogres - Rigel.
- Gangsters with Waifus - Lots of high open experience on this team.
- Onslaught Gaming - Old school players with some newer blood, but plenty of experience (new and old) will help them. Shoutout to kace.

I could list the playoff bubble teams (Keywork eSports okay cloud, LARGE gamers, candle's team, Twitch Plays TF2, Powerthirst, etc.) but the top of open is looking insane.
