#1 Reminder to all of the i49 fundraiser donors in TF2 General Discussion

PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK!

If you haven't received an email from me (circuitr33@gmail.com), feel free to add me to discuss. Yes, I will be making sure you actually are the correct donor so don't dupe me.

To give an update since it is long overdue, I wish I could have done all of this faster, however, I'm glad it's getting done. I apologize if anyone feels really annoyed but I promise I worked quickly AND accurately to make sure no one has their perk messed up.

If you still haven't sent me an email (but you got one from me), please do so, because otherwise I'll have to track you down and follow up, and that increases the risk of me messing it up. But if you don't, I will definitely follow up, however, that is definitely going to be a later priority.

enigma has the list of forum badge donors (and he knows it's still updating), I don't know the schedule or ETA on it; that's up to him.

Weapon signings I plan to get organized after ESEA LAN but before i49 (literally the two or three days or so), if the HRG players are up to doing it. If not, then they'll of course be arranged after i49. The same goes for the mentoring sessions.

I'm starting to outline the article, as well. Speaking of, if you want to change your name, feel free to do so (by emailing me).

Okay, I believe that's everything. Feel free to ask general questions here. If you need a specific question answered, you can add me or email me and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

THANKS, FROM TF.TV AND HRG!

#65 Goat_HUD in Customization
Goat_The bars are alright in my opinion I won't change em sorry!
I'll look into making proper groups together with a Google projects page and a screenshot gallery with the next update, expect it to drop on Wednesday!

I highly suggest going with GitHub as Google Code is removing downloads which is incredibly annoying for users.

EDIT: Correction, they did remove Downloads but they suggest using Google Drive. https://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/DownloadsFAQ

I personally (as a professional programmer) still suggest GitHub, I have my own configs and HUDs there as well.

#26 4's Hud Editor in Customization
PupNSudsshould i set a hud_reloadschme key in game like it says?

Yep. It's useful even while not editing. If your HUD just somehow gets strange, a hud_reloadscheme usually is the fix.

jetssuckwhere can i watch these games

Some people stream them on their own streams. Otherwise the only other options are to watch them through STV or by playing it back after it's over.

#12 UGC Steel 6v6 team looking for DEMO in Recruitment (looking for team)

Your thread is fine, don't worry about it. There have been an INCREDIBLE amount of bad threads made in the Recruitment section and yours isn't close.

In fact, you taking advice from the thread to remove the lobbies requirement is a good indicator, IMO. Best of luck.

ANDRASStarzZLobbies dont really mean anything...
At the very least it proves that a player has had some sort of experience in a 6 on 6 setting. So it really does mean something, even if the people in this forum completely and utterly look down on tf2lobby.

b4nny got picked up by Tyrone from a pub.

Lobbies really don't mean all that much.

I'd be more trusting of someone who has had Newbie Mix experience, if they're new. Besides, I'm sure there are demos who have already played in Steel.

#5 UGC Steel 6v6 team looking for DEMO in Recruitment (looking for team)
ANDRASWell, how many players go straight from pubs to scrims, without playing lobbies?

I could cut out the requirement that the person played lobbies, but what are the odds of a good 6s player who hasn't played Lobbies?

Personally, I went from pubs to HL to 6s mixes/pugs to (now) almost exclusively scrims. I've only ever done like 3 lobbies total, I don't even remember if they were HL or 6s.

I'm not calling myself a good player (I'm waaaaay behind my scouts who are amazing), but I managed to be on an open team without needing lobbies, because lobbies are not an indicator of skill at all. In fact, around here, it's much, much more of a bad thing. Literally better to not mention lobbies at all, and it's understandable why.

My recommendation to you is try not to be so closed minded. Especially at a steel level, there are lots of players around who just need to be given a chance to show they're worth your time. Skill, in my opinion, is a much less important factor than personality and willingness to learn. Team cohesiveness will always go much further than someone carrying your team (to make a contrast).

In my short time, I've come to conclude that the odds of a good 6s player who doesn't regularly play lobbies IS pretty high.

This advice (which, of course, take it from only one perspective) also applies to anyone who ONLY does MGE/DM/mixes/pugs/etc. The only exception I find to this is scrims or ringing (at best).

#2 Mid open team LF scout and roamer in Recruitment (looking for team)

FuRy is freakin' amazing and an awesome person (and my bro <3).

I've only rang with Block like maybe once or twice at most but he was seriously going nuts with damage.

With those two alone you already have really good damage + follow up as far as I'm concerned.
