#41 Update 4-1-14 in TF2 General Discussion

I updated Valve's base HUD files: https://github.com/NULFLO/tf2basehud

Basically, just stuff about the new backpack. Here's the exact commit regarding the update: https://github.com/NULFLO/tf2basehud/commit/ec9b3169ce993afb8a4833cfb06d4ac22051e891

#7 Need good training maps to play alone in Q/A Help

I would definitely add on TLR Rocket Shooting v3 to that list.

I can also recommend messing around with "net_fakelag" (EDIT: net, not cl, thanks MrYoke!) to simulate different pings (I think it's 2 * the ping you want on the scoreboard).

Another thing you can do offline is rollout or jump practice. Run a server with a map, and have various cheat-enabled commands used (I don't do this too much but I know there's hurtme -9999 which gives you 9999 health, impulse 101 gives you ammo, mp_roundrestart?? My point is there are a lot of ways to make this work).

On top of that, you can do demo reviews. I don't have the time to give you a bunch of links (especially when I don't know what class you are) but previous Invite players have of course put up their demos (I know Plat and Seagull did for last LAN), and scattered among the TFTV forums are seasonal STVs of both the regular season and LAN. It's worth doing those every so often just to see different styles, maybe where mistakes are made or where plays are done. It's worth finding (especially POVs) to understand how other roles play.

IT SHOULD'VE BEEN DIFFERENT

Ever since I've fucked up I haven't been able to sleep well and "it's not badlands" constantly whispers in and out of my mind...I'm trying to repent as hard as I can.

#52 ESEA-Invite: froyotech vs. Exertus eSports in Events
KAMOBLoodSireAnyone have a link handy for spechelper? Never heard of it, but I'm interested. If not I will google it, but thought I'd check here first, don't hate mehttp://teamfortress.tv/thread/7848/advspec

He's looking for SpecHelper, not AdvSpec. Separate plugins.

Deseanwhy does it say pandemic wins esea season 2

am i missing something

Must be something odd with the way events are linked to news posts, unfortunately enigma is already on his way to LANFest so it probably won't be fixed 'til after.

#49 ESEA-Invite: froyotech vs. Exertus eSports in Events

Much thanks, I know I personally appreciate constructive criticism.

nightwatchI have a few comments to make on this:

1. The triple-header scoreboard seems unnecessary for simple matches. Perhaps a single-map scoreboard exists already but if not, that would be an excellent thing for TF.TV to think of adding in the future.

I'll talk with enigma about this.

nightwatch2. Clicking through all the players to find the right one seems a little silly too. I don't know if you were using any plugins to make finding players easier (I think AdvSpec is the right one here) but it makes it more enjoyable for the viewers if POVs aren't switching every 2 milliseconds while you try to get to clockwork. You probably know this already but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

3. I don't know if anyone's ever made a nice interface to display stats on that matches the teamfortress.tv logo and scoreboard but that would be pretty awesome too.

Yeah, these two things take a bit more configuration than I had time for (to setup), but I'll be setting these things up ASAP. Also just to clear it up, what you're referring to in #2 is SpecHelper (I think it's originally from VanillaTV), AdvSpec does the outlines and the Medigun tracker. Easy to confuse. Again, thanks. :)

That was super action packed. So much clockwork frag vid material.

I'm incredibly sorry about the scores, this was my first time doing camera and it turns out it's incredibly hard to update scores when you're focused on getting on the right player...I'll be more prepared next time. I hope that my music selection (minus the troll track HEH) made up for it.

alfaclockwork is the best combo

For reals though, can't go wrong with badlands. IMO this is Decimate's chance to really show off that hot streak he's been on this season.

5-3 Froyotech, but not without a few long rounds.

slopawHave you tried watching rayshud hud tutorial? He might have some answers to your problem.
Or you could just add him, or send him a message. Or any other hud expert really

Please don't advocate asking HUD makers without a very good reason. Their time is limited, and I know that's definitely true with rays. He's already popular enough with people asking him questions on his own thread, his stream and Steam.

Honestly the best way is indeed posting on these forums. That way someone who feels like tackling it can give an answer best to their ability.
