#10 RGL discriminating against the hearing impaired? in TF2 General Discussion
MikeMatThis post could have said "Hey rgl needs to clarify/reword rule 1003.3, it reads like they're trying to ban hearing aids" and skipped 4 paragraphs of overdramatic bullshit.

#1980 mastercomfig - fps/customization config in Customization
sAvenIs the zoom_sensitivity_ratio in the flat mouse addon affected by aspect ratio, m_yaw, or both?

https://github.com/JarateKing/jarconfig/blob/master/docs/zoom_sensitivity_ratio.md#values

Hey all, I'm looking to improve some parts of the config which haven't been updated in a while: quality levels and documentation.

If there's any modules or presets that don't make sense to you in terms of the quality they provide per level, or any confusing or wordy documentation or download descriptions you feel can be made better, please let me know of any feedback, suggestions or criticism!

#5 How often was windows 7 updated? in Off Topic
OblivionageHmm okay I really dont know much about operating systems but I really don't like the telemetry in w10. I wish there were more options than just windows or apple. I'll just remove all the important things on this computer and stick to safe sites with adblock for now i guess.

You can disable all telemetry in Windows 10 using W10Privacy: https://www.w10privacy.de/english-home/

Also there are more options than just Windows or Apple: Linux :)

#3 How often was windows 7 updated? in Off Topic

You can see the history here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4009469/windows-7-sp1-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1-update-history

Generally, it is at least every month on patch tuesday, but due to how common vulnerabilities can be in complex software, it is often more frequent.

Additionally, since all windows versions come from some form of common code history, updates to windows 10, and windows 8.1 may reveal exploits in windows 7. So every time windows is updated further, you are more at risk.

Although it is true that smart computer practices can limit the extent of harm to your PC, that does not cover the more complex exploits taken advantage of that are fixed by these patches.

I would recommend updating to Windows 10 as soon as possible, or moving to Linux if you don't want to use Windows 10.

#1969 mastercomfig - fps/customization config in Customization

8.3.0 released with usability enhancements, bug fixes and performance improvements. (and yes, it includes a non-VPK version for those don't want to move over for god knows why) One thing I want to stress is that people seem to just ask for stuff without saying why, and that means I have to guess as to how to best serve not only them but all mastercomfig users. If you make a suggestion and say what caused you to make that suggestion, I'm going to be able to actually address the problem better.

#1968 mastercomfig - fps/customization config in Customization
hi_Has anyone made a non vpk version?

Can you let me know what you want from a non VPK version?

EDIT: Letting me know about your needs helps me better serve them, including adding new options to download and use mastercomfig. Instead of downfragging a simple question for seemingly no reason, I'd really like an answer. Thanks.

#25 NVIDIA and ASUS team up for 360hz monitor in Hardware
Olgha

Don't use percentages to compare frame times. It is misleading. Humans don't see in magnitude of relative change, they see what is absolutely happening in the world. Now, what you can do is instead relatively compare two absolute frame time differences.

For example

60Hz to 144Hz:

1/60 = 16.7ms
1/144 = 6.9ms

16.7ms - 6.9ms = 9.8ms difference

144Hz to 360Hz:

1/144 = 6.9ms
1/360 = 2.8ms

6.9ms - 2.8ms = 4.1ms difference.

4.1ms / 9.8ms = 42%

So, we can say that it's less than half the benefit of moving from 60Hz to 144Hz.

#3 Rubberbanding with high frames and low ping? in Q/A Help

If you are getting 200fps on very low, you don't need very low. Honestly, I should get rid of it because of its misuse. It's for people getting 5 to 15 FPS without a config.

It will affect your game negatively, as it says on the website. So when you encounter these issues, please heed the warnings.

I'd use medium low.
