Maybe host_thread_mode 0 will prevent the crashes.
pancake_stacksHave you looked into testing with the net_showsplits command? I believe it dumps to console how it handles splits.
IIRC I did, but it was too spammy to give any useful information. Could be wrong though, it was more than a year ago since I used network debugging to test things.

Hm, that's strange, though are you sure it has to be something with my config? It could be a TF2 bug.
SizzlingCalamariHave you tried IDA Pro or something similar on the linux/osx binaries to find references to the splitpacket convars?
I have done some debugging and a bit of decompiling but it honestly takes a long time to get anything out of it so I haven't looked at much stuff. Hopefully I'll get to figuring out what the splitpacket cvars do eventually.

I believe it works on clients, as clients still split packets if they're too big. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any source code that uses these split packet commands, so I can't be too sure about them.
The two rates for normal packets and splitpackets are the same for simplicity because rates are dependent on your Internet connection, and it is easier to adjust the rates as one value according to your upload speed, rather than mess around with trying to optimize the two rates individually for a lot of different upload speeds.

You mean the white outline that appears on your screen? I believe that's controlled by your HUD.

they changed the airblast hitbox though.

Linux isn't unsupported. The config even has Linux specific cvars that don't exist on Windows. I also mainly use Linux myself.

The preset im using is the maxperformance and the addon igpu
-noipx - This doesn't exist in the Source Engine
-heapsize 1048576 - This doesn't exist either
-refresh 60 - Only set this higher than 60 if you need to
-w 800 -h 600 - Set resolution in game
+mat_forcehardwaresync 0 - Don't set this, it causes GPU desync
+map_background preload_room - Preloading isn't needed anymore and causes performance issues and instability
-noborder -windowed - I would recommend setting fullscreen in game
BirdSoooo I just installed this config and I'm having a few visual glitches which I haven't seen mentioned in the github, mainly the magazine for the pocket pistol stretching and weird light effects on the weapons, I'm not sure how am I supposed to fix this
What preset are you using?
I haven't heard of the pocket pistol mag stretching before, nor do I believe it is an issue with the config.

I understand the problems with it. But I feel like it can help those who literally can't play without it. Perhaps I can add a better warning to ir.
Windows 10 is known to skip getting mouse input randomly on some frames. This solves that issue.
Bogusstarwarsguy321Ok I switched to dx 90. It is better, but even though I am pretty sure shadows are disabled, i still see dark blobs under people sometimes. Another thing is that on some maps like koth_sawmill, the cp area and the people are so dark that I cannot tell which team they are on.
Could you take some screenshots of these shadows?
The darkness can be solved with r_worldlightmin 0.004.
hyphenwould dxlevel 95 be more stable/better performing than dxlevel 90? what about 98?
