#31 TF2 Player Rankings Official Thread in Projects

I was going to play csgo tonight but now that there are internet points on the line I may have to play more tf2.
This is huge.

Also, it's cool to look at the number of players ranked as each class and get a picture of how large tf2 is.

#6 New map in Off Topic

HEY

PLEASE

go to MAP>MAP PROPERTIES>
Then put in a tf2 skybox name from THIS LIST: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Team_Fortress_2_Sky_List
where it says Skybox Texture Name.

Then put in a light_environment entity anywhere in the map, and copy the values for the skybox you chose above^^^^.

This will add environment lighting to your level and make the textures look much better and add visual depth to the level.

#1 USPS in Off Topic

I'm sure that a lot of you are waiting on packages this time of year, so I thought I'd share my current frustrations.

I don't usually have to deal with USPS so I'm not sure if this is the way they normally send packages.

I'm not really concerned with the time it is taking but the locations they are sending this box seem super bizarre.

Please discuss the cable's durability. I don't give a damn if it's too springy or too stiff as long as it's going to stay connected. Also placement of m4/side buttons would be cool, I've heard a few people say they're awkwardly placed and not in the most intuitive place for easy gripp

#7 Sustainability of TF2 as a competitive game. in TF2 General Discussion
KevinIsPwn-protothis is cool but ur teacher prob thinks ur a loserI think it was a nice change of pace from drinking age papers though.

Yeah, teachers & professors often dig themselves into marking pits by being too restrictive in their topics, your teacher must be pretty cool to let you do your paper on something like this.

I was going to do a design project this term by making a spectator hud for TF2 (the user group had to be "new and emerging cultures un-catered to by tech companies") but the prof said no video game related stuff so he lost out, and instead got like 20 projects that were "Social Media for International Students".

MarxistI just put their aliases, although I do make a habit of getting peoples real names lol.

I also abrogated the lists by putting "see previous list" lol I couldn't help myself.

Also question - is piracy considered stealing perse? lol Because if it is, well hell yeah I've stolen lol.

#6 Powerline networking in Hardware

Wireless became too unstable for me so I went the route of a long-ass ethernet cable (I'm talking 100 feet) and ran it through the house from the top floor where we have the internet set up to the basement where my pc is. It was about 60 bucks for the cable though, so that's a bummer. Also it's visible on the stairs and stuff and could be a tripping hazard. Got a bunch of u-bolt fasteners from an old hardware project and put the cable off the ground so no one would trip, worked out ok but ugly as heck.
