#36 how will the weapons in day 3 affect 6s? in TF2 General Discussion
HuggesChanging the topic a little, what are the chances the flyro jetback is so well balanced and fits so nicely into the 6s meta that it necessitates a 10 man 5v5 comp mode? 5 man teams feels so right for a team based game with maps sized the way they are just like in cs/dota/whathaveyou. Not to mention less comms

Zero. 6v6 is the standard for class based shooters for a reason.

#311 update is released in TF2 General Discussion
toads_tfdo you all think there's going to be some major change to the game UI? it seems as if the contracker or whatever would be out of place in the current setup, but knowing valve they can certainly hack it in

#144 update is released in TF2 General Discussion
WandumFeel like alot of people need to remember that theyre not a part of the target audience anymore. Sure, you can sit here and complain about new hats and how the pyro jetpack is theoretically either broken or completely useless, but if you're a hardcore 6s player you're nowhere near the target demographic, and the update is deffinately not made with you in mind.

That's honestly a mistake, the only way this game is going to do anything but die relatively quickly is if valve supports the competitive scene properly.

Not to mention the fact that talking about new items is incredibly useful because in the meantime we get to choose our own whitelists and weapon bans. If tftv thinks the jetpack is a dumb concept that detracts from the game after playing with it for a bit, then it will get banned. Your opinions are important.

#10 How much of your life has been on TF2? in TF2 General Discussion

1.3% just on tf2, around 2.3% on competitive video games in general.

What's a little more worrying is that if I do the maths starting from when I first played tf2 (which was my first competitive video game) the numbers come out as 7.4% for tf2 and 13.5% for video games in general.

#20 Can I post the best of TF2 Steam discussions here? in Off Topic
BumFreezeyou sure do know a lot and post a lot about spuf for someone who keeps telling us about how dumb they are, do you have some wierd kind of stockholm syndrome?

that's not spuf, that's scud. spuf is dead, valve killed it months ago. may it rest in peace. A lot of the posters there were bad too, but there was a greater percentage of experienced players there, even if they weren't that good at the game, so the general consensus there wasn't as pants on head retarded as anything scud says.

#178 TF2 Players that went on to greater adventures. in TF2 General Discussion

it's hard to argue that zebbosai, knoxx, tviq, yuki, termo, nanohana, pine, seagull, numlocked etc were worse players than anyone playing now. they were all at the top level of their respective regions

#14 Stalemates in TF2 General Discussion

make all classes better at attacking than defending

currently it's the reverse so there's no incentive to push because you're basically making it harder for yourself if you're the one to engage

granted it's easier said than done but that should be valve's goal when balancing

-The team is NOT interested in weapon bans or class limits. Rather, they wish to balance the game such that everything is viable.

I wish for world peace and a universal end to discrimination too, that doesn't mean it's feasible now.

- They DO believe class limits have a place, however they believe weapons bans can be avoided with proper rebalancing.
