#277 Comanglia's Config / FPS Guide in Customization
Victorcon_enable 1
con_filter_enable 1
con_filter_text_out Cannot update control point
con_filter_text_out doesn't have attachment
con_filter_text_out material
con_filter_text_out muzzle
con_filter_text_out particle

I don't think this works because the last time I checked, con_filter_text_out only accepts one variable at a time, so you shouldn't be able to filter out all those words at once.

Correct. It's just a normal cvar, so whatever value you set it to replaces the previous value.

MugnumAny info on what mat_disable_fancy_blending exactly does?

mat_disable_fancy_blending turns off https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$blendmodulatetexture

mat_disable_fancy_blending 1 on the left, 0 on the right:

https://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/9/9c/Blendmodulate.jpg

pellyx1 more question. Command "cl_ejectbrass 0" should prevent bullets coming out of the minigun, but it doesnt work for me for some reason. Is it be cause of sv_pure 1 or something?

cl_ejectbrass only affects modeled bullet cartridges that are ejected by weapons like the sniper rifle and the shotgun. The minigun bullet casings are a two dimensional particle effect, thus they aren't affected by this command.

#9 Iron Pugs 2015 Winter Tournament in TF2 General Discussion
MouseCakeCan I off-class?
  • Offclassing will only be allowed if matches are at a standstill.

Who defines what a standstill is? Would be nice if this rule was made way less arbitrary, like "max 5 mins of offclassing per player per game" or something.

#84 making your tf2 look blocky again in Customization
Keyu_malloctrippai think +mat_showlowresimage 1 in launch options crashes tf2 right away now. rip blocky rocket smoke
Can confirm; crashes right away when sv_cheats is reverted back to 0. It even crashes when the command itself is reverted back to 0.

Anyone know a fix to not make it crash?

Remove +mat_showlowresimage 1 from launch options

#17 I am looking feed back on my unfinished fps guide in Off Topic

Just a heads up, the msconfig section does nothing.

  • noguiboot simply disables animations during the boot process. This will not make your boot any faster. For example, if you're on Windows 8 or Windows 10, all you're doing is disabling the spinning dots (http://puu.sh/lHeJM/6ea6c95b6b.png).

#2210 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization

Where are hud combattext numbers located? I'm talking specifically about combat text that shows over players heads, and more specifically the bonus points (+1 on sandvich give, +1 on extinguish, +2 on med drop). I'm trying to modify lawena's kill notices only hud to enable these.

EDIT: Never mind, I was originally thinking that huddamageaccount.res only dealt with the static damage numbers shown near your health, but apparently it also deals with overhead damage text.

#6 Refurbished ASUS PG278Q, go for it? in Hardware

I have a PG278Q and G-Sync operates between 30-144hz. That being said, it's really not good for competitive games where you want the minimum possible input lag. Honestly I don't even notice tearing at 144hz anymore.

Unless you play a lot of single-player games, just keep your current monitor.

#250 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion

http://puu.sh/loftN/eb3b3d0e81.7z

tl;dr: Dump all this shit in /cfg/ or /custom/pazers_config/cfg/ or /custom/pazers_stupid_config/cfg/ or whatever. See one of the _launch.cfg's for recommended command line parameters. You need to put +exec perfcfg_high_performance_launch OR +exec perfcfg_performance_launch OR +exec perfcfg_pretty_launch on your command line at the minimum.

Honestly splitting things up the way I did was probably more trouble than it was worth, but the original idea was to have cvars that require a material system reload (game freezes while it reloads all textures) in separate cfgs (_launch.cfg) than the cvars that didn't require a material system reload (_runtime.cfg). By doing this you could quickly change cvars that could actually be changed quickly (without freezing or crashing your game) by just execcing one of the _runtime.cfg configs during your game. In practice, I've never used this functionality once. Oh well.
