Cobra447Awesome hud! I would like to suggest that the loadout slots have the same padding and alignment regardless of style options having the "+" not move the cosmetic slots move further to the right.

Maybe I was half asleep when I did it, but I was actually restricted as to how I could position the button itself, making moving it impossible; I was only able to resize it. I'll look into it more in the future, though.

I don't know how much you'd care, but I enjoy casual pubbing 'unusualy' sometimes on PropHunt and stuff like that, and this just bugs me a bit, I don't know if you'd even consider fixing this, but what the heck.

AuraMixWhenever I alt tab out of the game with the Menu active, I come back to the game and I noticed my Health and Ammo as well the Character display on hud are gone.

Same as Jacky's situation, I'll see if I can't get a decent edit out next update. I didn't realize it cut off on the logs.tf website.

NeoFusionHello Mr. Ray I have used your HUD as a base HUD for my HUD (hud, hud, hud :P) anyway, I don't know how/which files to edit to make some of the fonts a tad smaller (for an example: The scoreboard names are slightly to big) if you could just list where/how I could edit the scoreboard text I'm sure I could figure the rest out.

All fonts in the scoreboard are stated in each individual HUD element, and their corresponding font definition is in ClientScheme.res.

AsteriCould anyone help me with this problem I'm having? Every time I try to say, enable a crosshair in the hudlayout.res like changing the visible to "1", when I use hud_reloadscheme in-game, either nothing happens and I'm still staring at the stock crosshairs, or I get error messages like these in the console:

Oh, I'm using a Mac, by the way, since I have no doubt that'll make a difference.

You're not seeing the custom crosshair because you have to change both enabled and visible to "0". The error you see in console is a completely independent issue that I'll see if I can get a fix out for in an upcoming update.

VeckoRay i have version 3.0 of rayshud and i installed version 3.7 correctly and deleted version 3.0 and it doesn't work it just stays on version 3.0 and i re-installed the game and still 3.0 PLEASE HELP! AND IF I CHANGE THE HUD IT STILL STAYS TO RAYS HUD!!!

It seems like you have an issue with yoru custom directory. If I were you, I'd clear it out (with the exception of maybe configs), and then attempt to re-add things again, one at a time.

VinceI had a quick question. Is it possible to change the font size of item names in the character loadout screen? I know the default hud adjusts font size for longer weapon/misc names. Right now I'm only getting partial item names with the hud installed. See the attached pic for what I'm talking about. It's worse with other items, I just had this picture readily available Anyways, awesome hud!

Thanks for noticing this; I've noticed it as well, but I never really was motivated enough to getting around to fixing it fully. This should be fixed with the next update.

Hey guys,

After a few seasons off, my team has decided to come back from the dead and begin to play this game again. So far five of us are confirmed to be good for next season, however this leaves us a player short. As of right now, this is our confirmed roster:

Starting:

Due to a bit of indecisiveness, we're willing to try out anyone who's willing to want to pocket, demo, or medic for our team, as we haven't confirmed roles on those three classes. As far as backups go, Tree's availability will vary and we will need at least one to two backups on whatever class he ends up playing, but being able to play more than one class is a bonus. We also are a pretty tightly knit group, and enjoy playing other games outside of TF2 together - Hanging around with us and playing more than just scrim/matches together is always nice.

We don't know exactly what league we're going to be playing in yet, but it will most likely be the Open division of CEVO, or ESEA Open, depending on which league most people sign up for.

If you're interested in playing with us, these are a few guidelines/expectations we'd like you to have:

    [li] [b]The ability to main-call. (If interested in trying out for the last starting position)[/b]
    [li] At least a season of competitive experience in at least open is preferred.
    [li] Be chill and willing to learn/improve with us; a stable and calm mumble atmosphere is always a good thing.

If you're interested in playing with us, please add disengage or fvl to discuss potential tryouts with them.

If the installer is crashing a lot for you, try this and see if it fixes the issue:

- Navigate to your AppData/Roaming directory (This will require enabling the ability to see hidden folders/files)
- If there's a rayshud folder in there, delete it, then try to run the installer again.

Apparently there was some corruption with the save data necessary for restoring your data between sessions that was causing crashes on startup for a lot of people. Please let me know if this fixes, or doesn't fix, your issue, as each piece of feedback helps us with creating a stable program for use.

I'll see what I can do in a future update. I originally edited it just so it'd match the MOTD, but if making it bigger would benefit everyone, I can adapt and see what I can do in the future.

There was one day a week and a half ago or so where while I was speccing a medic I could not only see the med's health but also the heal target's health. Then it disappeared. I've talked to some other people who experienced something similar, was that something you modified in the HUD?

That's been an issue with TF2 for quite awhile now, regardless of what HUD you use. However, it's been some time since I've had it happen to me.. Usually a hud_reloadscheme in console or a game restart resolves the issue. Sorry it happened to you; if I knew how to fix it I would.

Version 3.7 is out!

It includes the following changes:

    [li] Added in the ability to see the avatar of whoever's talking over voice chat on a server.
    [li] Edited the tournament setup panel. (Removed old buttons, black background on text entry screen.)
    [li] Edited the MvM ready-up panel to have a black background instead of the default red.
    [li] Edited the MvM wave status and boss health meters to be more minimal and match with the theme of the rest of the HUD.
    [li] Edited the MvM scoreboard for 4x3 users to have a completely new layout due to space issues with the old scoreboard setup. ([b]4x3 only[/b], could potentially support 16x10 and 16x9 in the future.)
    [li] Fixed ping getting cut off in the MvM scoreboard.
    [li] Fixed the respawn time/buy back message from clipping with HUD elements while waiting to respawn in MvM.
    [li] Fixed a few menu pop-up clipping issues.
    [li] Fixed clipping issue involved when finding a new item.
    [li] Fixed the unusual particle slider being broken on the class loadout screen.
    [li] Fixed the MvM scoreboard not using the right font.

#2 some weird hud problems in Customization

It looks to me like you were editing the file via HudAmmoWeapons.res, and you moved the primary ammo's location up to a spot where it's actually off of the HudAmmoWeapon's "frame", so to speak, cutting it off.

If you're just trying to move up the ammo to a position closer to the center, you'd be better off editing the x and y-pos of "HudWeaponAmmo" in hudlayout.res, as that will move the entire HudAmmoWeapon frame, rather than just one particular element of the hud.

Ond_kajaThank you rays for making such an awesome HUD! However, one issue I have is when I play against teams with long clantags, I won't be able to properly read their names if the scoreboard is in minmode, it's cut off like this:

This is something that I can't unfortunately do anything about - When valve released the new killstreak update, I was forced to reduce the name field in order to accomodate for the addition of the streak column. If you'd like to edit the scoreboard yourself, open ScoreBoard.res and edit the "name_width_minmode" to make it how you'd like - Just be aware that some parts of the scoreboard might extend past the background. You can mess with the other values too if you want.

@tf2guy, you can modify the position of a hud crosshair via the hudlayout.res file - I made a youtube video on this, check it out over on my YouTube. Also, if you use the installer, it should position the crosshair in the center as well.

Also, sorry about the lack of updates/fixes for MvM. Truth be told, I've gotten rather lazy.. The edits are like half-way done for a temp fix, but there's a few more things I'd like to do before release. Soon, I promise!

Ah okay, it just looks like they might've reset the MvM scoreboard to default with this most recent update. I'll see what I can do to getting a fix for the MvM scoreboard out ASAP.

EDIT: I found the issue. To other HUD editors, they stopped using their old font definition for the MvM scoreboard and instead started using the font defintion of "ScoreboardSmall" in ClientScheme.res. Also, they spaced out everything further in the "MvMPlayerList" section of "MvMScoreboard.res" file, so you'll have to increase the wide value accordingly. (This could potentially create issues for 4x3 users, I'll look more into this later.

No update on the HUD just yet, but I plan on getting one out tonight if possible, otherwise tomorrow when I get home.

I'll see what I can do. The cyan/aqua color scheme was actually an accident on my part - Those were my own personal colors at the time and they accidentally mixed in with the github files, overriding the older defaults of lime/cyan.

smoboMvM scoreboard look funny to anyone else with this HUD? It looks like the fonts broke.

Can you provide a screenshot? Last I checked the fonts were fine, but if something broke with the most recent update I'll do what I can to get an update pushed out asap. (probably later tonight, since I'm currently visiting family)

I have some problems with your RaysHud Installer and the HUD itself

First, the RaysHud Installer is crashing right when the installation process's bar has finished. I maded a event log of what happened exactly : RaysHud Installer Event Log

Second, i think i already told you that question, but i didn't get a clear answer. What are the exact files in the hud files i need to edit/delete to remove the blue inventory font/background ?. Looks pretty good overral, but the blue colors are too bright and hurt my eyes. .

Thanks for the bug report! It definitely helps us get closer to working out our eventual bugs with the installer that causes some people to crash. As for the files necessary to edit/delete the blue color - With this version of the HUD its very hard to do, but I can promise I have some big stuff in the works in regards to different color themes for the HUD. If you can bear with me (and the cyan color) for just a bit longer, I promise there will be alternatives in the future.

tmoneyrays it would be awesome if you added fog's crosshairs v3 :)

Because fog changed around the positioning of some of the crosshairs and the labelTexts will be a bit different, I'll see if I can get these into the next version of the HUD, but it might be a little bit while we work towards getting installer functionality with the new set of crosshairs. Needless to say though, it'll be in before too long.

WithADanceNumberRays you're making it hard to work on my own HUD, because yours is so good.

MaevHey rays, I have a mac and I changed out the fonts like you said to do in the readme, but the bottom of the fonts is cut out. like the line under the font in the letter "p" isn't there. any fixes?

Unfortunately the HUD is still rather buggy on Macs. Because I don't have one that I can test with, it's hard to make the appropriate glyph edits to the font file itself as I don't know how they'll scale on a Mac. While the font that you're using (the one I specified in the readme) is still much better than default font on Macs, it's unfortunately far from perfect. Now that I'm no holiday however, if anyone would like to help with the creation of a 100% functional Mac font and would be willing to do a bunch of trial/error stuff with me, just leave a post in the thread and add me on Steam (that way I know who's adding me, since my list is almost full).

Sorry for the late replies guys, I had to survive finals the past few days. I appreciate the kind words though. :3
