Is there any extensive documentation on all the files involved in making a HUD? I know there's a list of what most of the necessary files do on doodlestuff and flame's guide but they're either outdated or not informative enough. Anybody know if someone has done something similar but fully up to date?

I'm fiddling with the "BuildingStatus_Engineer" panel in hudlayout.res to change the position of the engineer's buildings, but after a casual round ended, my ypos was set back to default. I've tried finding something relevant in hudanimations_tf.txt but I couldn't find anything. Anybody happen to know how I can fix this?
How do you move the chat box and killfeed?
Anybody know how to get rid of the blue bar in this screenshot when spectating teammates?
So I'm editing the spectatorguihealth and im testing tf_hud_target_id_disable_floating_health 1/0. I'm fiddling with the bonusimage text and it's inconsistent for these two settings. If it's centered in tf_hud_target_id_disable_floating_health 0, then it's off center in tf_hud_target_id_disable_floating_health 1. Anyone encountered this before?
What is the file that controls the targetid of the player that just killed you in the killcam?
Quick question, what file controls the countdown number and background that appears before a casual match starts?
I see that a lot of huds have quickly adapted to mym and modified the bars at the top surrounding the players when playing casual or matchmaking (https://thumbs.gfycat.com/LiquidTastyAmericanbobtail-mobile.jpg). I just want to know what file modifies the red/blu bar at the top, the gray box below it, and the white outline around that. I have already modified the transparent bar surrounding the players in hudmatchstatus, but the area surrounding the red/blu bars are really annoying.
deetrsAvenI'm not entirely certain if this is a hud problem, but it happened after I installed mkhud. I noticed that all commands that were going through the dev console were showing up on the main ui.
Can you post a screenshot? Could be developer 1 or cl_showerror 1 if it's a command thing
Actually, now that you mentioned it, I did add -dev into the console. I'll try to see if removing it does the trick.
I'm not entirely certain if this is a hud problem, but it happened after I installed mkhud. I noticed that all commands that were going through the dev console were showing up on the main ui. It was really annoying as I was bombarded by red text saying that some vtf files weren't acceptable, which isn't out of the ordinary, but I just don't want that to show up on the screen all the time. I tried searching this problem on google, but naturally it just came up with wiki pages of a list of all console commands.
This is a pretty serious hud problem. The first time I load a new hud in, like broeselhud, it's working perfectly fine. But let's say that the custom crosshair's off balance. I go into hudlayout.res and change the x and y values, but it doesn't change in-game. Eventually, i say, f this and remove the crosshair all together by making the visible and enabled values 0. But it still doesn't go away after hud_reloadscheme. I then rebooted my game; still there. I tried removing it from my custom folder, loading in the default hud, quitting the game, and put it back into my folder, and the crosshair's still there. Any help would be very much appreciated.
EDIT: I've done some experimentation to try and fix this, and it appears that deleting the old hudlayout.res and replacing it with an original hudlayout.res from when you first downloaded the hud allows you to customize it for some reason. I guess the problem's solved, kinda. Though I don't really need any help anymore, a more permanent solution couldn't hurt one bit.
Forgive me if this was asked before, but I just don't feel like going through 100 pages of questions and answers to find what I'm looking for. So here's my problem. For most of the huds I've tried, the health/ammo numbers that change colors, based on amount of ammo/health remaining, don't reset to the default color (neither overhealed nor severely damaged). Is this a hud bug or a game bug? If it's a hud bug, can somebody tell me how to fix it? ty
I haven't seen this with other huds, but this one has the strange property of reloading every item on a backpack page after leaving it for another page. Pls, don't fix this, I love this feature. My ocd makes me enter the game and load every single backpack page because it bothers me, and now i don't have to worry about it anymore. My question is where the hud file is, because i don't really use the hud anymore, i just want its backpack property. Ty.
