I completely undestand the issue and this sucks. I was just answering to the people saying that ash "should be ashamed" for something he has no control over. I hope it doesn't happen in the future.
I was trying to make a joke. I was saying that ash should be ashamed for needing to use "rate hacks" to win a game in TF2 but you see the joke is that froyotech win everything anyway. I don't know anything about rate hacks I was just trying to make a joke.
Yeah ash should feel ashamed tbh. Pretty sad that the only way for froyotech to win anything is to have their scout rate hacking,

You don't appreciate how little time we have. Discussing availability with say 8 teams or so to have say 3 invited and a playoff for the 4th would have made these discussions take a lot longer and we are already late with making travel arrangements so delaying another week or so for a playoff would only make things worse.
Ok thats fair enough if you didn't have time to have a playoff this year and I understand that. However I think we should learn from this and maybe next year if dreamhack is gonna have TF2 we will probably have time and will be able to have some sort of online playoff instead of just inviting whoever you find first so its a lot more fair on the other teams who will want to go and compete. Also edited my post with the new info as I didn't realise you had so little time.
Also Hallow I was told yesterday (and ondkaja just posted) that it was gonna be a completely different team with new players and only a couple of original saints players. So it basically is a brand new team.

I think next year they should ask other teams like KRITZBERG if they can play and then maybe have a playoff for the 4 spots in the tournament. I know i'm being negative about this and its really good for TF2 but for next year I think it would be a lot more fair for other teams who might want to go to be able to compete online to get a shot at going. I still believe its unfair that a team that hasn't even formed yet are getting to go instead of teams that have actually been together for a long time and have proven themselves online. I think it would also be really exciting if next year we had a playoff cause it will give upcoming teams a chance to win some money and play at LAN.
Yeah thats fair enough although considering how good LEGO are right now I don't think Saints will win anything. I guess if Saints are the only team who can attend then it makes sense. I think its OK then as long as Saints actually practice hard (which I think they will do) instead of just showing up without caring and taking the money.

ESEA gives money for 4th, it's to cover costs. As a matter of fact, ESEA gives the 4th place prize money to players weeks before so they can use it to cover traveling costs.
Also, if 6 people manage to make their whole trip cost less than $500, good for them tbh. That's a skill in itself.
Yes but to come 4th in ESEA you actually have to win games online. I just think its a little unfair that saints are gonna get $500 without needing to win a single game. I just think its really unfair to get money like that without wining a single game as a team and I honestly don't think saints have a chance unless ondkaja gets some really sick lineup somehow.

The $4,000 (~33,000 SEK) prizepot from Marketplace.tf - will be disbursed to the winning teams as follows:

This means that whoever comes 4th gets $500 for just showing up. Is this so they get the money they spend getting to there back? Wouldn't that just mean they are getting a free holiday to Sweden. Wouldn't it be better to make it so that the players have to actually win to get the money or at least make the winners get more. I think $500 for coming last is kinda unfair as there are other teams who would probably love to get $500 for going to dreamhack (also everyone in saints is actually from Sweden)
