#18 AMD Radeon R9 290X in Hardware

Driver arguments are always funny to me. If you are too wrapped up in brand names to realize that both companies have driver problems every week, you're blind.

#10 Online ColorIQ Challenge in Off Topic

for what it's worth, I ran through it once pretty quickly and got this result.

then, I really took my time and stared at the screen until my eyes were about to bleed and got this:

I'm not sure how accurate this kind of test is, because there doesn't seem to be any metric. I know I have trouble with hues all across the spectrum, so I don't doubt its accuracy, but it'd be nice if it showed a base scale, like
___ for normal
___ for protanomaly sufferers
___ for protanopia sufferers
___ for deuteranomaly sufferers
___ for deuteranopia sufferers
___ for tritanomaly sufferers
___ for tritanopia sufferers

etc

#1 Adobe Acrobat in Off Topic

I have around 30 copies of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard and 4 copies of Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard from computers that were purchased from Dell. The HDDs were immediately replaced with SSDs and the software was never used.

I have no use for these, and I doubt many of you do, either, but if anyone does, I will sell them pretty cheap.

I'm thinking something like $15 for Acrobat 8 and $25 for Acrobat 9. They seem to be selling for anywhere from $20-50 each on eBay, so I think these are good prices.

What you'll get is the sealed install media with a serial number. I will cover shipping in the continental US.

If you are interested, add me on steam or post here and I'll add you.

Killingsmakers Math
I feel like there's something wrong with your math. 16 teams makes for 4 rounds including grandfinals which would be bo3. 3 bo1 30 mins, 1 bo3 ~1 hour. 2 hours and a half + delays 3 hours. Each round adds 30 minutes. I've played in SC2 tournaments that have taken me 3 hours and have seen some that have taken 6. I don't mind putting in an extra 45 min for an extra 16 teams to play.

wtf, ninja editing your post to change 'double bo3' into 'bo3' doesn't make my math bad, anusbreath.

#26 Gauging Interest for an Idea in TF2 General Discussion
KillingIdeally 16-32 teams per night which I would expect to take ~ 3-4 hours.

If you are talking about separate, standalone tournaments every Friday, your timeframe seems impossible. 1 6 teams would mean 15 games before grand-finals, and double bo3 means at least 4 more games. If team A wins the first bo3 and team B wins the second bo3, you'd need another single game or another bo3. This means anywhere from 19-24 games to determine a winner.

Best case scenario: 19 games
Winning team plays 7 games.
8 servers needed to ensure all teams play without waiting for available servers.
Granted, there will be games that don't last the full 30 minutes, but if we assume all games take 30 minutes and everyone plays the initial round simultaneously, the time required would be 3.5 hours. Hitting that time would require zero pauses, zero seconds of delay in getting a game started, and zero seconds of delay between each game. The winning team would be playing the entire 3.5 hours.

Worst case scenario: 24 games
Winning team plays 12 games.
This would raise the minimum time to 6 hours (assuming all maps take 30 minutes and each bo3 goes to 3 maps) and would result in a grand finals lasting 4.5 hours.

The idea seems good enough, but you'd probably need to revise the time table and amend the final match to a single bo3 or a single bo5 at the heftiest.

#27 Maincalling Tips&Tricks in TF2 General Discussion
smakers***Commonly overlooked is the fact that your team needs to listen to the main-caller. Even if the call isn't ideal, 6 players on the same page will result in a play with a much better chance of success than 3 players going and 3 players arguing.

If you're scrimming, it's probably better to just go with the call and discuss why it was a poor call later. This makes sure you're all on the same page and it also gives the main-caller the opportunity to see his/her choice fail which enables that person to learn from it.

***unless that person is alfa and he's telling you to use kritz through an obviously stickied badlands choke when the entire other team is behind spire not peeking. got dam transylvanians
