hi ive been playing lots of pubs recently and ive noticed lots and lots of stupid engineer players just... outside the map?? it's really weird. so far ive seen it happen on:

granted, in one of them the guy is cheating with nullcore but i dont think it requires cheats because ive seen it so often. maybe im crazy, but what is happening?

according to one of my mapper friends its something to do with gaps in neighboring clipbrushes but im not sure, as in the red spawn, 3rd stage of thundermountain (where the above screenshot was taken) theres no neighboring clipbrushes? its all just a solid single one?

I would say that going on someone's stream every single time they stream a certain game (and sometimes even others) and then harassing them by calling them slurs and other shit and then getting banned and then doing it again would qualify as stalking. Personally. That's just me though.

First, some context to why I'm posting this thread:

As most of you probably don't know and also probably don't care about, I recently took a break from tf2. I probably won't be playing competitive in any format for a while, but I still like to browse tftv to keep up to date on the latest shit that's happening. Anyway, after a few months of not playing, I came back. After playing a couple pubs, getting my configs together (disabling in game voice) and hud reinstalled (and also modifying the chat box element to make it invisible, so I can't see chat), etc., I decided to start up a stream. Typically I have faily small streams, maybe 5 viewers max. This stream was... a different story. During this stream I peaked at somewhere around 15 viewers. Normally this would be great, except that shit like this happened:

I try to avoid interacting with stuff like that (other than immediately banning them) because I know "its what the bullies want" yadda yadda whatever. For a while after that, things were fine. Then I noticed a certain already banned person was also lurking in my chat. Not long after, I started getting streamsniped. By the same person who was lurking in my chat.

"Cool," I said (it wasn't very cool). I went offline on steam, and requeued. Then it happened again. And again. Over and over, this same player, streamsniping me, taunting, being a jackass. Changing his name, putting [KAT] and other dumb shit in it, to try to piss me off. [KAT], btw, is the name of a hate group in the tf2 community (led by mireal, if I'm remembering correctly?) that "dislikes" trans people, as you can probably guess from their name, "Kill All Trannies". I eventually turned off tf2, and started playing a hat in time, which is a single player game that people can (obviously) not harass you in. My viewer count plummeted, and I turned off the stream after a bit to go hang out with my girlfriend at work instead.

This seems like a pretty stupid and obnoxious thing to do to someone, right, but its not like, the *worst* thing in the world.

Some time later, I opened up Twitter. I'm fairly active on Twitter, and I check my notifications regularly. I see a notification from <@PlayerWhoWasStreamsnipingMeEarlier_1>. Keep in mind, I already had this guy's main account on Twitter blocked, at least if my memory serves me correctly. I opened it. He's liking some of my retweets. Normal behavior, if you aren't an insane person who harasses minorities for fun. Coming from him, it's obvious that he's just stalking my profile. Anyway, I tweet this:

pops up in my notifications. Cool, random dude #2 who's probably his bud, you think my genitals are funny! Thanks for that. Anyway, I blocked him. Guy #1 (the streamsniping person) then responded (to me) with hate speech. I didn't screenshot it before his account got banned, unfortunately, but it was just gross and vile and slur-ridden and etc. Anyway, this was somewhat upsetting to me, so I reported his tweets and blocked him and logged off for a while.

Fast forward a bit, to today. I get on tf2, to play some pubs with my girlfriend. I played for a bit, nothing much happens. Eventually, though, I run into him in a pub. This time, my name and profile picture are different. He should have no way (other than maybe my hat?) of knowing that it's me. I immediately get hard focused.

Cool.

Love that.

I logged off.

And then I wrote this post, because I'm tired of it. The pub from earlier tonight wasn't really that big of a deal, but it's the straw that broke the camels back for me. I'm done with this guy (and more broadly, this sort of shit) and I'm going to fucking call him and it out.

This guy has been a total and complete jackass to me since the second I met him. Even ignoring everything I posted above, he's also probably an actual sociopath. The first time I met him, he pretended to be trans, and asked me personal questions that I wouldn't normally answer if I wasn't talking to a trans person. When one of my friends told me that he was laughing at me with his friends in a private discord, I was angry and upset, and I immediately blocked him on all the platforms I could. He's been a complete nuisance ever since, including this bullshit.

I'm so fucking tired of him, and more broadly, the gross incels in this community who hate trans people.

Please don't fucking touch this dude or anyone he associates with with a 20 mile long pole. He's a minority hating incel. So are plenty of his friends. There are better players, there are better people. There are better people who are also better players. Etc.

Anyway, if you got this far, thanks for reading, I guess. I probably could've made this shorter and/or put it in a response to his LFT, but I feel like this deserved its own post, as it's been happening for literal years now, and it's not just limited to him.
