honestly I can't think of a modern example from melee that could be compared to isai. his thing is that he's played 64 for so long that he can potentially beat any player w/ any character in the game

he's also the only person that anyone really pays attention to in ssb64, which is a bit of a shame. I'm kind of rooting for wario solely b/c people might realize there are other players

there's four of them. four "threats", compared to about the twenty or so fox threats. most of them don't even use wobbling heavily, because functionally chaingrabs and handovers accomplish the same thing. wobbles would get the exact same kind of results in wobbling banned tourneys and wobbling allowed tourneys, because he was still getting kills off of grabs. so would nintendude, since he would still place high at TBH when it had it banned.

fox gets free gimps off of a single shine. marth chaingrabs fast fallers to death. zero-to-deaths off of one read is not special, you're just not a good player

ICs are barely top tier, they're one of the most fragile characters in the game and they only ever get results on a rare basis

TF2 is an outlier in how it handles bans, every other genre (ESPECIALLY fighting games) does not give a single shit in the world if you don't like something, until it becomes ST akuma it's staying

M2K picked peach, on dreamland, against ice climbers, which is the easiest top tiered matchup you can have in melee, and he still fucked it up
