Probably better to just talk it out in this thread. I'm very biased vs certain builds and I'm not good w/ SC builds (I figure for those just do whatever you want). Someone else might have better theorycraft for you.

Also, wifi 2 shit where I am. Almost died in rocky to a dead flame helion. I guess all I can do now is theorycraft until my connection is better or I buy a 5ghz wifi adapter.

Too bad it's basically impossible to run a paid league without anti-cheat (relying on demo inspections is lol), let alone get proper administration (people's time generally isn't free and the problem of being truly run by people who still actively play the game leads to bias concerns).

You could run blackgleam to make the AA more worth it too. I still think you might die to reflect tho anyways, 77% res + pots can only do so much when scaling elements and rapid bursts of damage.

and increase duration does in fact work on EA so i think you can expect reduced duration to work on it as well.

The mana cost isn't insane if I use EH, and remember that I'm going to have insane mana regen since I'm trying to keep AA up. Frenzy is likely too high of a mana cost, but EH is dirt cheap (4 base).

Also, about EA: I meant if reduced duration is low enough to work with quill rain. I know it'll work with the gem, but if it doesn't explode almost instantly then my build doesn't work/has capped DPS. Ie I'm at 4 attacks per second but reduced duration is only 75%, then I'm going to actually still tack on more arrow charges instead of exploding right away. Though it's still better than waiting a second for it to explode I guess.

32hzWhy run ek instead of like molten shell or something, it seems out of place in comparison to EA. You wont always crit, when you dont the ek wont do anything, the projectile speed doesnt do much besides extend the range of ek.

I would make your primary skill something that benefits from crit more. or swap out EK. Also there's a reason people always run EE with EA.

Problem is EE is on the other side of the skill tree for my planned build. Also EA does a ridiculous amount of damage already, and any more is suicide unless you're VP + CI.

The purpose of my build is 1) Retarded EK range, 2) High cast speed EK, 3) High crit chance procs/damage. If I can get it to proc on average twice per second, I get the following breakdown damage (by multipliers):
435-652 base phys damage
~1.2 to 1.5 projectile damage (quality EK + passives)
~1.5 ele damage (hatred + added fire, up to 1.64)
.05 * (1 + 2 [passives] + 2.5 [power charges]) ~= 27.5% crit change
3.75 crit damage (from ~1.5 increased crit multiplier from passives)
Avg dmg multiplier with crit is .275 * 3.75 + .775 = 1.806 multiplier
2201 Avg damage per EK cast
3 attacks per second for 6600 DPS

Not that great, but add in crit weakness and it goes up by a lot. Maxed gems push the total damage to ~9-10k DPS. This is also with very little spent on gear, since this build uses the same weapon (Quill Rain) with only a 5L for most of the time. Definitely not amazing DPS by any standards, but I think with proper equipment like Maligaro's and a good quiver/ammy and it becomes really high DPS, range, and fun. If it ends up not working out I can always go EA or try out my EE dagger build.

Just looking at Etup's EK marauder build, he does 6.6k tooltip without added fire, 8.4k DPS with it. I think matching his build with a lot less currency is kinda nice, though mine is more level/gem dependent.

I do want to try a reduced duration EA build, but it's better suited for Templar (that RT positioning). With level 20 EA and quill rain, it does 654 base damage per shot, which means with conc effect + 60 ele/projectile/area damage + faster attacks you're hitting 7kDPS at the very least. But you have to count on reduced duration being enough to make it explode between EA shots, which is very unlikely :(

EA to level, EH/Frenzy w/ Cast on Crit EK when I reach ~75-80 and have the perfect setup. Both work well with AA since it reduces phys and fire damage, but I have to avoid getting any crit until I make the EK transition or a random arrow will 1shot reflect me.

Basically, none of my gear changes, but I swap gems. Both need only 4L's to work (EA+Burning Damage+Ele prolif+Fire pen, and EH+PCoC+Cast on Crit+EK). Quill Rain scales attack speed like crazy, then for the EK build EH gives 80% crit with quality, PCoC sustains really high crit chance, and EK gets up to 100% projectile speed from the Quill Rain. Combined with Crit multi, it'll actually do comparable damage to normal EK builds, hit the entire screen thanks to the high projectile speed, and have much faster cast speed if the Cast on Crit gem is balanced well (6 attacks per second, ~30% chance to crit, and procs on every crit). AA reduces both Fire damage and Phys damage, though I need lots of armor to negate a crit EK reflect (using IR to make up for it). I can post the exact build later tomorrow.

Also, using Frenzy is better than EH, but frenzy costs a shitton to sustain. It'll probably be less than the sustain for moving with AA though so I could just stick with that. I could hit ~8-9 attack speed with quality, meaning 2-3 EK casts per second on average.

Any Aegis Aurora build requires so much wealth to do. I wanted to do a block HP/ES build with it, but the cost would be ridiculous.

32hzim curious on what you are planning on putting with that coc trigger. If I were you i would def roll scion and vaal pact/ci/GR for anything crit+physical. Or go EB, mana shield, Arctic armour, and avatar of fire or something like that.

Forgot to mention AA, IR, Mana Shield. I can get ~2.5-3k mana, ~12k armor, 160% mana regen from passives (probably will need Atrizi's Foible + mana regen rings though), and ~350% bow crit. Going to use PCoC with 5 power charge nodes, use Quill Rain, and just spam either lvl 1 EH or Frenzy. Leveling is going to be done w/ EA and pray I don't die to reflect before that. The Aura buffs will help a lot, since it'll make sustaining AA much easier and with EB I can still probably run Purity/Grace/Determination/Clarity.

When I roll a Scion, it'll be a CI VP EE Crit Dagger with Cold Snap/Arc or Shock Nova/Fireball on crit (because you can chain more gems onto a single trigger gem). That's going to be fun to do, since EE is really only used for Explosive Arrow builds.

Another build I have planned is a Molten Shell Marauder/Templar, and then getting the buff/skill duration nodes and run Immortal Call on damage taken. Basically make a build that's invincible to phys damage and just Molten Shell explode on everything. Might need AA to survive with it, but considering it's a tank build it could work well.

Yeah I theorycraft this game a lot.

SkyrollaAs for builds, I'm recreating a character that I made in a 1-week hardcore race to start off nemesis. It's an EB incinerate self-cast tanky character. The scion should prove useful for reaching EB efficiently on life characters

Enjoy lightning thorns. God I wish they scaled it off of damage effectiveness instead of leaving it as flat bullshit damage.

Also I wonder what they're going to do about EC + Trigger on Damage taken. Seems like a must-have thing now.

No, but new 4 month leagues that most people are going to be playing in (completely fresh start). Going to be playing Nemesis (HC) and die to lag a few times. Default league will be the SC 4 month league, Domination, and the default.

Also, going to be leveling with EA, then try to go On Crit EK EB. It'll only be good if the new Cast on Crit gem is really high chance per crit (if it's PCoC level it's gonna suck and I'll do something else).

I think it makes it easier to jungle for slower junglers (maybe even enables a few more heroes) but the best Junglers don't get the same XP speed like they used to.

And snowballing is something that kinda needs to happen so that winning early game means absolutely nothing late game. Otherwise it'd be better to just go for late game heroes every game and turtle/stall it out (which already happens enough at high levels, ratz). Then again the other team turtles because someone started to snowball half the time.

HoN has always given Pudge and Vengeful Blink Dagger, they aren't even broken. But HoN tends to have lots of broken/stupid heroes and balance issues.

Also how is dagon/diffusal/refresher broken? Seems like shit except to troll when you're already winning. Only works in pubs.

Should have been v7. Seriously, the amount of changes are ridiculous and deserve their own version (day/night, gold intervals, rosh time, no more effective pulling, etc).

Also, anyone know if dragon ancients can get pulled to bot lane near tower? Since they can fly now.
