TF2 TeamJungle Inferno Update news can't be contained, much like the velociraptors in a movie we've been explicitly ordered not to mention. Or in the unrelated novel Jurassic Park, where the exact same thing happens, except no lawyers yell at whoever wrote the book version to stop stealing from Jurassic Park.
Why? Because nobody likes reading. And since these are boring reading words you're mouthing right now, let's get straight to the exciting video game parts.
glitturesome nerds managed to snatch the thumbnails of the private videos, holy hype

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO GOOGLE
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO ADOBE
Via Jess Cliffe:
Jess Cliffede_dust2 changes:
* Clipped spiral stairs in Tunnels (thanks Rf)
* Fixed window eating nades
* Adjusted clips on cover props
* Fixed some bomb stuck spots
* Flour sack models slightly taller at A
* Fixed a number of signs in French
* Fixed building top at B that players could boost and see through
* Fixed building in long where players could throw nades into and flash others
* T model arms now match the player model
* Re-added ability to get onto some crates in CT spawn
* Moved building bumpout geo near Short A and CT Ramp that was hanging up players
* Adjusted clip brushes around all wooden double doors to be more precise
* Removed rubble on B bombsite that players could hide a planted bomb in
* Refined clips around taxi cars
Note that not all the bugs that have been reported have been fixed yet but we wanted to ship this out asap to get feedback.
Also note that there is some new flashbang code where instead of tracing from the flashbang to the player, it will trace from the player to the flashbang. This should help in cases like throwing a fb over a displacement wall that has no backface which would blind players.

TF Team(10th anniversary community mosaic image courtesy of TF2 subreddit)
On October 9th, 2007, Team Fortress 2 was released to the world. Also some other games shipped too, in a game collection called The Orange Box, but between you and us, we were never really happy with how it was marketed:
https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/news/33463/orange_box_blog_size.png
still the TF TeamAnd now, ten years, 624 updates, 100+ maps, 60 billion kills, 20 trillion in damage done, 6 billion items created, 2 billion headshots, and lots and lots of hats (so many hats) later, Team Fortress 2 celebrates a solid decade in gaming! Of course, there's really nobody else to thank for that but you, the loyal player. Thanks for letting us share this ride with you! We have one of the best communities any game could ask for, and we've loved growing the game with all of you into the weird, wonderful thing it is today!
What's next, you ask? We're putting the finishing touches on a mammoth new update, and it'll be shipping in the very near future, we promise. How near? Well, very. Imminent. Not this week imminent, but you know. Really soon.
Also, we should mention that Shapeways is launching a Valve Design Contest to reward the best designs with epic prizes from Valve and Shapeways. The grand prize winner will receive a Team Fortress 2 Grey Medic statue and $500 in Shapeways printing credit, so if you're good at 3D design and like prizes, head on over and check it out!
Here's to another decade!

Valve[ PERFECT WORLD ]
– Added a double-confirmation purchase UI for Perfect World users to help avoid accidental purchase clicks.
[ GAMEPLAY ]
As a pre-release beta, the following changes can be previewed offline with bots:
– Smoke grenades now have 10 unit radius when deciding if they are close enough to a fire to extinguish it. This helps reduce the number of ‘gaps’ between flames which could cause a smoke grenade to not detonate.
– Additional changes to smoke grenade detonation to make smoke/fire collision more predictable in areas with rough terrain / ledges / stairs.

Avira antivirus users are experiencing widespread false positives with the game executable - see Rumor has it for instructions on reporting as false positive

Via the CS:GO blog:
Valve[ MISC ]
– Users in China with a worldwide license will be prompted to play on Perfect World servers in China or outside of China.
– Those players can still manually set their launch parameters to bypass the prompt.
— “-worldwide” command line option will allow users in China to launch the worldwide version of the game to play on game servers outside of China.
— “-perfectworld” command line option will allow users outside of China to launch the “Perfect World” version of the game.
Rumor has it:
- If you're having issues with Avira thinking that the CS:GO executable is malware, grab the executable from your quarantine, head to https://analysis.avira.com/en/submit, select "Suspected false positive", drag the executable on to the page, and fill in the details
- Anyone is able to upload the executable, so even if you're not an Avira user, I'd encourage you to send in yours anyway
- Although you may hear that you should add the game directory to your exclusions list, you really shouldn't in the event of a real emergency. Even if done for supposed "performance benefits", these benefits would be extraordinarily miniscule on a modern system with solid-state storage
- Localization is the name of the last two updates: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/3e25bb2724e2b6a25fbc2448a452be1808b60730

Valve[ MISC ]
– Users in China can now install and launch CS:GO before purchasing a multiplayer license.
– CS:GO will launch in “Perfect World” mode by default for all users in China which, when the player has linked their Perfect World and CS:GO accounts, provides them with access to low-latency official game servers in China and ability to play with friends using the Perfect World CS:GO Launcher.
— “-worldwide” command line option will allow users in China to launch the worldwide version of the game to play on game servers outside of China.
— “-perfectworld” command line option will allow users outside of China to launch the “Perfect World” version of the game.
– Fixed a regression affecting operation of Windows community dedicated servers and community GOTV relays.

Valve[ GAMEPLAY ]
– Fixed rare cases when smoke would not extinguish fire when it bounces between the flames.
– Reduced the height at which smoke grenades that bounce off of walls can extinguish flames.
– Fixed a bug where bullets could sometimes fail to penetrate player arms.
– Reduced price by $100 for both the Revolver (now $600) and Dual Elites (now $400).
[ MISC ]
– Fixed gloves not appearing on certain custom maps that skip default equipment.
– Added an option cl_crosshair_t for a T-shaped crosshair.
– Fixed StatTrak™ music kits not showing StatTrak™ logo in limited time offers.
– Fixed a case where certain cheats could approximate the random seed used on the game server.
– Added a way to acquire a worldwide CS:GO license for accounts running outside of CS:GO Launcher.
Rumor has it:
- Strings have been added for item origins (likely for Perfect World purposes), and for acquiring international licenses, but other than that, translations from Translators Like You - Thank You: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/021bf6fa4d46c597ce6fcb7998f9ffdd3dbe3a5f

Powerful tropical storm depression Irma continues to impact the Atlanta metro region, currently which was previously under a tropical storm warning, where the US Southeast datacenter and Steam Datagram routing cluster is. Be aware of a slight chance of impacts of either direct or indirect types over the next couple of hours, including higher than normal pings particularly from non-US regions (though the Steam Datagram system may function as it's meant to and mitigate or limit such impacts). Continue to monitor the US National Hurricane Center and your local National Weather Service office for info.
