Another season of ESEA is underway, and casts are happening again! Now, at EVL we want to provide the best cast experience we can, and there's definitely room for improvement as we're not perfect and we know it.
If you have any feedback for any of our casters, production crew/camera people, we'd love to know. We want to work towards putting out TF2 content that you guys enjoy and want to see. Thank You!

Could you add lower quality to the stream? I have shitty internet, and viewing at Source is really hard for me.

I very much enjoyed tonight's cast. You and Deer were perfectly entertaining, and I listened to the first few rounds Audio Only on the drive home - it sounded awesome!
I want to throw out my oddball suggestion about intros. I'm sick of at the start of casts, hearing everyone do the same "Hello my name is X, and this is Y. How are you today Y?" "Oh I'm great I'm excited for some great TF2!" As a viewer, that is not interesting to hear at all.
If you really insist on asking how the other caster is (they will always say good or great) at least add something extra to the end of it to make it more interesting. Something about the match importance, or the teams, or some storyline. Mix it up! It sounds very canned when you just say How's It Goin.
This is 100% cosmetic and does not affect a cast but is something I've wanted to express for a while. Not just EVL, but all orgs.

The current streams are at 720p, but apparently we're on the road to partnership so that should make it easier for you in the future!

Me and deer had a brief discussion on the intros and completely agree, and it's something we'll both be going to make an effort to change. As well, it has also been sent to all the other casters so hopefully we can break that cycle!

Out of curiosity whats your download speed? We aim for 1500 - 2000kbps on the bit rate for streams, so if you have 2-3mbps of download (and have access to all of it) you should still be good to watch.
If we are able to get twitch partnership (and I'm confident we will get there sometime this season), we'll up our bit rate and do 1080p, and you'll be able to down scale so that you are able to watch. Already at 2000kbps the picture has stream artifacts, so going any lower will make it look worse unfortunately :(
Its also possible that you have lag because FLASH sucks, and there isn't an html5 player available for most people. I have a good download speed, but watching twitch on the website sometimes is laggy. Using something like livestreamer pulls down the stream into any media player (like VLC) and has a much better framerate.

Sometimes I turn of the audio of whatever porn I'm watching and put dreamboats casts in another tab to enhance the experience.

KevinIsPwnplease don't stream 1080p. nothing that you have access to will stream 1080p60fps nice enough to where it will be better than 720p60fps. unless you have some evl supercomputer that i'm unaware of.
We have some pretty high end stuff that just got yanked from production at evlgaming.com, if we pull it off it would probably be a dual pc setup. We would test first to make sure it actually works well though ;)

I think that the viewmodel_fov of the casts should be lower, personally. The viewmodel_fov in an STV is regularly higher than what it's really set to in console, so turning that down would make it look a lot better to me.

Do you folks use NodeCG? It should be able to run on the same computer, and is used by the TFTV stream too.

c0ld did that for our battle royale, but Kinch/Rondego and I don't do that for the weekly casts. Instead the current setup is Xsplit / NodeCG. We have NodeCG running on a VPS so we can do a two man production setup. We've been waiting to get scoreboard / other bundles but most that are public did not work, though very recently we finally were able to get a hold of one.
I have an OBS / NodeCG setup with transitions, scoreboard, etc all working. Some of our camera people are having weird issues with it though, such as NodeCG graphics suddenly vanishing. Once we get those all worked out there will be a huge bump in quality.

I'll watch it. I watched some IM casts last season and wasn't too impressed by them, but certainly I'll give some feedback on the current ones :)

Thanks for the feedback! You're totally right, a great cast flows well, and deciding who takes mid makes it a little choppier and hurts it.
As for kill feed I definitely noticed myself doing that too much, it's something I'll make a more conscious effort to fix, i do feel like I do it way more on viaduct than other maps too, probably because of how back and forth it is.

Also, bitrate on Twitch is limited to 3500 kbps, which means 1080p60 won't look any better than 720p60 for fast-paced games like TF2.
Well, it's not really limited, but Twitch doesn't like it if you go over that. I'm sure there's exceptions for the biggest streamers and events, though.
