Therefore, I know nothing about how to set it up.
Are there fps configs, launch options that are necessary like there are for tf2?
That's basically all I'd like to know.

It runs on the source engine, so then there are probably configs and more than likely launch options. I have it, just not installed so I can't check but I'm 90% sure.

L4D2 is a much better optimized game than TF2 is, you should be able to use most of the same launch options, and I dunno about fps configs, but I can run it on max settings on my laptop, so if your computer is at least halfway decent you shouldn't have any need for a fps config.
