Let's see the funniest/most bizarre bans you've gotten on TF2 related websites. I'll start, pasting my tf2center unban request

"#669082 refusing to rep an AFK player; then repping yourself ultimately leading to EXCESSIVE_SUBS"

I was on the team of the aforementioned player and Masternoob was on the other team. The game hadn't started, we were still in pregame.

The player wasn't afk. Their PC crashed and they were reconnecting. It was a mumble required lobby and all of us agreed in mumble not to rep them, just give them a minute to connect. Masternoob joined our mumble, started counting down from 20 to 0 and then banned that player from tf2center even though they were almost connected (sending client info).

So what's more important, a decision reached by our entire team (and the other team since no one apart from Masternoob asked us to report the player) or the whim of an admin that can't wait for 2 minutes and decides to abuse his power?

After the player got banned for no reason whatsoever, I reported myself because I lost the desire to play.

Others reported themselves too, and we all got banned.

I fail to see how reporting oneself is a bannable offence.

Furthermore, where do you have a rule that says that if a player is taking too long to connect because of an old/slow PC they deserve to be banned by an admin?

me and 3 friends got 10 year bans (appealed now) for repping off the entire enemy team on a center lobby serveral times and they had over 30 unique players with several of those players being repped off more than once [*]

are you trying to say that what you did was right? I mean 10 years is excessive, but they gave opportunity to appeal so it was likely just that length to send a message to you not to do it again.

are you trying to say that what you did was right? I mean 10 years is excessive, but they gave opportunity to appeal so it was likely just that length to send a message to you not to do it again.

Same reason. Not against their rules. At least not any reasonable way I would twist them. Apparently masternoob has other ideas, and I would love to hear his logic. Apart from the part of listening to him speak again.

The funny thing is that I was the one who mentioned "they will likely join in 20 seconds" as the "afk" (crashed) players name was mentioned in the chatbox as having joined. So he started counting down from 20. If he had waited 30 seconds, the player would have actually joined. So 20 seconds was a pretty good guess imo.

Anyway, after he banned our sniper (the player who was taking a while to join) I repped myself, not wanting to bother playing (medic on viaduct HL, which is cancerous); since the sniper was actually my friend who had invited me in the first place.

I doubt I'll bother appealing. 1 week is nothing, and odds are as soon as tf2stadium fixes a few of its bugs and cleans up the website a bit, I'll just use that for lobbies.

Ban Reason: I disagreed with an admin in a fucking FaN opinion MEGATHREAD with hundreds of posts.

2) I was banned from tf2.pickup2 (the invite pug channel on IRC for euros) in 2010 because Byte thought its much easier for me to play sniper on high ping and its unfair to the other players.

i got banned for saying 4s isnt as interesting as 6s when they were asking for feedback and then i got banned again without saying anything after you unbanned me the first time

Byte is right though. NA also had a rule for eu snipers (people with over 150ping cant snipe), I think this was the HL IRC channel though. I can understand how it's kinda stupid for 6s where sniper isn't as powerful.

First time was because I was tired and my sentence structure made no more sense. He had no clue what I was saying so he thought it was for the best to just time me out for 10 minutes in case I was talking shit. he apologized when doing it though. He just wanted to make sure

Second time was when Star was hosting truktruk and I said to Steven, one of truktruk's mods:
"good luck moderating with Star's viewers in chat, Steven". Turns out Star's name is Steven as well and he was lurking in truktruk's chat. He thought it was aimed at him
