I heard its been happening for months in europe, i think its a more recent thing of the last few weeks for na. On the bright side community servers are booming

It seems to be recent. These are bots that are using a new lag exploit to lag and eventually crash the server. Casual is definitely pretty unplayable in NA unless this gets resolved.

i've had a good experience with creators.tf but you'll have to install their assets package if you have your downloads set to map only or deal with walking error signs.

these crashes are caused by basically the same problem that caused this crash in csgo: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=322222 which was patched i believe in january?
there is a fix i collaborated (should say "helped test" haha) with the creator of ^ that original patch ^ here (xtract the sourcemod folder to your /tf/addons/ folder) for community servers
according to backwards this issue was raised to valve years ago so uh Cool.

and here's the messages it'll throw in console if someones trying to crash your server:

outside that patch this ones on valve for fixing pubs lol
