Most of the hud is ported to the new version now. (Center Version and scoreboards are missing still, will do that tomorrow probably).
The new font is closer to the original design, but includes lowercase letters. At this point I could probably write a sonnet about how beautiful that font is. There should also be no font cut-offs anymore. I ended up going through roughly 100 different typefaces, the folder with fonts has almost 2k items in it, so this font-choice is hopefully final :D
I also made the health-pickup more visible (duration+size) and I changed the server label/spectator display to the top left corner to display more spectators (for double mixes).
The "carried-items" panel is also slightly tweaked. I removed the player-name from it to avoid clipping (you can still see the name on the TargetID), made it a bit smaller and moved it back towards the bottom of the screen while spectating.

Late answer, sorry. The picture you see is an alternative animation, which you can find in /scripts/ starting with PULSESHADOW. If you want those shadows to be darker you can decrease the values for the "Buff", "LowHP" and "HudShadow" values in the clientscheme, but the default colors will look exactly like the screenshot.

There's an alt file for the Main Menu (in /custom options/) and I'm currently working on the in-game menus. The animations being stuck is a TF2 bug sadly, this happens with every hud.

hud_reloadscheme should fix the red health/ammo bug temporarily but I think it's just a bug you have to live with.
Regarding the old font, he said: "I won't be able to update a version with the old font. Creating the new version was more than just changing the font sadly in the clientscheme. A lot of elements needed adjusting and tweaking to not be off-center or have glitchy text."
Only way would be to use the old version of the hud.

I edited the font in FontForge and added ALL CAPS override files in the /Custom Options/ folder.
It seems to work fine for the most part, kerning is slightly off for smaller sizes apparently. It shows up correctly in FontForge, so I'm not sure if it's fixable or just a TF2 bug. Hope you (and others that missed the CAPS look) enjoy :)

So I'm trying to get that side line in the blank version without having the black box, just putting it next to the hp. So my real question is, what elements would I have to copy in order to get that because nothing is really jumping out at me.

I called them "PlayerStatusHealthValueBG" and they are usually 1-3 entries, depending on the version. The vertical one is only one entry iirc.

They show when you're buffed or low on ammo or hp.
You'll need to place the font files in the /resource/fonts folder.

Wow that main menu looks nice, but what does the play and coop button do exactly? Is play "Start Playing" and coop "Play Co-op" from your other menu? Because if this is targeted at comp players, then you may want to get rid of both of them and replace them with "Servers" since most people I know just use the server list.
