i'm using mastercomfig medium-low @ 1440p, dxlvl 8.1 and have been noticing really fucking trash performance in tf2 lately (talkin like, dips to 80fps on 6v6 koth, even below 60fps on upward hl)
TF2 used to run REALLY well on this pc and suddenly things have been going really badly, not sure if it's because of my switch from 1920x1440 to 2560x1440 (higher fov?). using a 3700x, rtx 2070s and 32gb of ram (so it should perform very well, but in the end it's tf2 so i wouldnt be surprised if it just was the game being itself). any tips are appreciated.

Try setting your resolution in video settings rather than using launch options.

didn't seem to help much really, I'm suspecting the nVidia 446.14 driver might be fucking my game up

You know you would THINK that Nvidia would at least test there drivers on 2 of the top 10 played games on Steam before releasing them but apparently not.

Personally, I have been using the NVIDIA Studio Driver, which is much more stable, and only is inferior to the game ready driver in terms of launch day optimizations, which I rarely, if ever, will use.
